Magnetic ordering in doped coupled frustrated quantum spin-1/2 chains with 4-spin exchange
The role of various magnetic inter-chain couplings has been investigated recently by numerical methods in doped frustrated quantum spin chains. A non-magnetic dopant introduced in a gapped spin chain releases a free spin-1/2 soliton.

Random telegraph signal amplitudes in sub 100 nm (decanano) MOSFETs: a 3D `Atomistic' simulation study [PDF]
In this paper we use 3D simulations to study the amplitudes of random telegraph signals (RTS) associated with the trapping of a single carrier in interface states in the channel of sub 100 nm (decanano) MOSFETs.

This study presents novel anti‐counterfeiting tags with multilevel security features that utilize additional disguise features. They combine luminescent nanosized Ln‐MOFs with conductive polymers to multifunctional mixed‐matrix membranes and powder composites. The materials exhibit visible/NIR emission and matrix‐based conductivity even as black bodies.

Two-dimensional semiconductors pave the way towards dopant-based quantum computing
Since the proposal in 1998 to build a quantum computer using dopants in silicon as qubits, much progress has been made in the nanofabrication of semiconductors and the control of charge and spins in single dopants.

Stabilization Mechanism of ZnO nanoparticles by Fe doping
Surprisingly low solubility and toxicity of Fe-doped ZnO nanoparticles is elucidated on the basis of first-principles calculations. Various ZnO surfaces that could be present in nanoparticles are subject to substitutional Fe doping.
