The doppler family

Ultrasound in Medicine & Biology, 1990
Doppler spent more than twelve years in Prague, during which time he not only produced the majority and the most famous of his scientific works, but also married a devoted wife who bore him five children during their stay in the golden city. It is therefore not out of place here to take a brief look at Christian Doppler, not so much as a scientist, but

Doppler Echocardiography

Pediatric Annals, 1987
The advancements in Doppler methodology in the past decade have dramatically changed the way we assess children with heart disease. Techniques to determine pressures, gradients, shunt flows, and regurgitant lesions have shifted the noninvasive studies into areas that were strictly the venue of catheterization a decade ago. The more recent color Doppler

Doppler Echocardiography

Pediatric Cardiology, 2002
We describe concepts important in the clinical application of continuous wave, pulsed wave, and color Doppler flow imaging. In the second half of this manuscript, the application of these tools in pediatric echocardiography is addressed.

[Doppler effect in cardiology. Continuous Doppler, pulsed Doppler, Doppler color].

Presse medicale (Paris, France : 1983), 1989
Echocardiography has contributed to the exploration of the heart by providing much information, and it has even given rise to new semiological concepts. However, abnormalities of intracardial blood flow, notably shunts and regurgitations, could only be diagnosed indirectly from their effects on cardiac cavities.

Doppler-free/Doppler-sliced ion imaging

Physical Chemistry Chemical Physics, 2006
We demonstrate a hybrid Doppler-free/Doppler-sliced ion imaging approach that is well-suited for detection of H or D atoms. The method relies on 2 + 1 resonant ionization with identical, nearly counterpropagating beams that are coplanar but directed at a small angle relative to the detector face.

Transcranial Doppler

2016
Transcranial Doppler ultrasonography (TCD) is the only diagnostic modality that provides a reliable evaluation of intracranial blood flow patterns in real-time. The physiological information obtained from TCD is complementary to the anatomical details obtained from other neuroimaging modalities.

Doppler Signal and Doppler Waveform Analysis

2021
B-mode ultrasonography is used to determine the “morphology” of anatomical structures and organs; Doppler methods have the potential to offer “functional” information through blood circulation analysis.

Pelvic doppler

Seminars in Ultrasound, CT and MRI, 1999
This article reviews gray-scale and Doppler evaluation of the adexae and endometrium. Color Doppler is useful in distinguishing between cystic and solid masses. However, spectral Doppler is of limited utility in improving the gray-scale morphologic impression of a mass being either benign or malignant.

Doppler ambiguity in laser Doppler velocimeters

Applied Physics Letters, 1973
An analysis of the Doppler ambiguity for the laser Doppler velocimeter is presented which accounts for the signal statistics based on a Gaussian beam intensity. Results are in excellent agreement with experiment.
