A modified approach was developed to accurately identify the isovolumetric relaxation time (IVRT) using an apical three‐chamber view. Compared with conventional echocardiography, isovolumic relaxation strain imaging (IVSI) helps to detect the earlier alternations of diastolic function in transverse aortic constriction (TAC) mice.

Doppler effect and frequency-shift in optics
A critical review of frequency-shift phenomena a la Doppler effect is presented. The importance of Fermi's theory of 1932 is pointed out, and it is argued that there exists a gap in our understanding of this phenomena at a fundamental level. Alternative mechanism in terms of photon number oscillations is suggested for polarization changing experiments.

Wireless blood pressure sensor implantation in sheep: A detailed technique
Twelve adult sheep underwent wireless blood pressure sensor implantation. The procedure lasted an average of 36 min, with mean systolic and diastolic blood pressures of 93 ± 6 and 65 ± 5 mmHg, respectively. This rapid, minimally invasive protocol is a powerful platform for cardiovascular device development.

Influence of Wall Deformation Structure on the Liquid Film Flow Behavior Under Turbulent Conditions
ABSTRACT To explore the influence of typical wall deformation structure in the scrubbing‐cooling tube on the liquid film, this paper studied the liquid film flow behavior on the riblet walls with representative riblet radii and compared them with the flat wall. Under different liquid film Reynolds numbers (Rel = 8.3 × 103 ~ 3.14 × 104), the liquid film

Recent Advances in Stimulated Brillouin Scattering in Integrated Photonics
This review systematically surveys recent advances in stimulated Brillouin scattering (SBS) within integrated photonics. It begins by elucidating the fundamental mechanisms of stimulated coupling between photons and acoustic phonons in nanoscale waveguides, enhanced by the photoelastic and moving boundary effects.

The Space-Based Altimeter Echo-Signal when Doppler Scattering is taken Into Account
In the analytical approximation of time dependent average power of a satellite altimeter echo-signal (power profile) the Doppler scattering of individual specular point responses is usually neglected.

Extended Kalman Filtering of Satellite Doppler Tracking Data and IT¡¯S Application to Orbit Determination Problems [PDF]
Using a directional antenna, the Doppler effect of satellites can be detected and the orbital elements can be obtained by the Extended Kalman Filter with the observed frequency shift data. We obtained the orbital elements of NOAA-11 by the application of
