Passive localization from Doppler shifted frequency measurements

[Proceedings] ICASSP 91: 1991 International Conference on Acoustics, Speech, and Signal Processing, 1991
An efficient search scheme for an underwater radiating source is developed by introducing intermediate variables which are products of some of the unknowns. The search dimension is only two, in x-y position, instead of five. The resultant intermediate equations become linear and are easier to solve; the major calculation at each grid point requires an ...

Doppler frequency shift estimation for differentially coherent CPM

IEEE Transactions on Communications, 1990
A communication scheme based on continuous-phase modulated (CPM) signals used in conjunction with trellis-coded modulation (TCM) is considered. To keep the complexity manageable, a detection scheme based on differential detection of CPM signals is used.

Comparison of methods for turbulence Doppler frequency shift calculation in Doppler reflectometer

Plasma Science and Technology, 2023
Abstract The Doppler reflectometer (DR), a powerful diagnostic for the plasma perpendicular velocity (u ⊥) and turbulence measurement, has been widely used in various fusion devices. Many efforts have been put into extracting the Doppler shift from the DR signal. There are several commonly used methods for Doppler shift

Adaptive Doppler frequency shift estimation for OFDM systems

2012 International Conference on Wireless Communications and Signal Processing (WCSP), 2012
Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) is sensitive to the system frequency offset, while in high speed movement Doppler frequency shift is the main factor which causes the system frequency offset and result in inter-carrier interference (ICI) and degrade system performance.

Prediction of Wind Turbine's Doppler Frequency Shifts

2020 New Trends in Signal Processing (NTSP), 2020
This article deals with the prediction of the dominant Doppler frequency shifts of the wind turbine blades. Spread-spectrum of the Doppler frequency shifts of wind turbine blades can mask the radar targets. Current filtering methods are designed to filter only the complete radar resolution cells in places where wind turbines are located. However, these

Frequency Detuning Control by Doppler Shift

2011
In this work, a control strategy for ship parametric roll resonance is developed by changing the frequency of the parametric excitation. This is achieved by varying the ship’s forward speed. This changes the perceived frequency of the waves, known as the encounter frequency (and thus the frequency of parametric excitation), via Doppler shift.
