ALK1 controls hepatic vessel formation, angiodiversity, and angiocrine functions in hereditary hemorrhagic telangiectasia of the liver

open access: yesHepatology, EarlyView., 2022
Hepatic endothelial Alk1 signaling protects from development of vascular malformations while maintaining organ‐specific endothelial differentiation and angiocrine portmanteau of the names Wingless and Int‐1 signaling. Abstract Background and Aims In hereditary hemorrhagic telangiectasia (HHT), severe liver vascular malformations are associated with ...

Laser Doppler instrument measures fluid velocity without reference beam [PDF]

open access: yes, 1971
Fluid velocity is measured by focusing laser beam on moving fluid and measuring Doppler shift in frequency which results when radiation is scattered by particles either originally present or deliberately injected into moving ...

Characterization of Droplet Formation in Ultrasonic Spray Coating: Influence of Ink Formulation Using Phase Doppler Anemometry and Machine Learning

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
This study explores how machine learning models, trained on small experimental datasets obtained via Phase Doppler Anemometry (PDA), can accurately predict droplet size (D32) in ultrasonic spray coating (USSC). By capturing the influence of ink complexity (solvent, polymer, nanoparticles), power, and flow rate, the model enables precise droplet control

Traffic control system and method [PDF]

open access: yes, 1974
Frequency of carrier received by aircraft is measured and compared with reference to indicate magnitude of Doppler shift. One Doppler frequency range is selected and indicated by digital signal.

Sonar micro-Doppler effect induced by ship oscillatory motion in waves: Phenomenon, model, and experimentation [PDF]

open access: yesJASA Express Letters
Traditional research attributes the modulated sidebands of ship radiation line-spectrum signals to reflections off rough ocean surfaces, but the Doppler effect caused by vessel motion may also contribute.

On the relativistic Doppler effect for precise velocity determination using GPS [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
The Doppler effect is the apparent shift in frequency of an electromagnetic signal that is received by an observer moving relative to the source of the signal.

A Photonic Approach for Doppler Frequency Shift Measurement With Dispersion Medium

open access: yesIEEE Photonics Journal, 2020
We propose and experimentally demonstrate a novel and simple approach to identifying both the direction and value of Doppler frequency shift (DFS) in this paper.

Non-Cosmological, Non-Doppler Relativistic Frequency Shift over Astronomical Distances

open access: yesDynamics, 2022
We investigate in detail an apparently unnoticed consequence of special relativity. It consists in time dilation/contraction and frequency shift for emitted light affecting accelerated reference frames at astronomical distances from an inertial observer. The frequency shift is non-cosmological and non-Doppler in nature.
