Radar Sensing via OTFS Signaling: A Delay Doppler Signal Processing Perspective [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2023
The recently proposed orthogonal time frequency space (OTFS) modulation multiplexes data symbols in the delay-Doppler (DD) domain. Since the range and velocity, which can be derived from the delay and Doppler shifts, are the parameters of interest for radar sensing, it is natural to consider implementing DD signal processing for radar sensing.

Doppler Radar for the Extraction of Biomechanical Parameters in Gait Analysis [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2020
The applicability of Doppler radar for gait analysis is investigated by quantitatively comparing the measured biomechanical parameters to those obtained using motion capturing and ground reaction forces. Nineteen individuals walked on a treadmill at two different speeds, where a radar system was positioned in front of or behind the subject.

Detection of Micro-Doppler Signals of Drones Using Radar Systems with Different Radar Dwell Times

open access: yesDrones, 2022
Not any radar dwell time of a drone radar is suitable for detecting micro-Doppler (or jet engine modulation, JEM) produced by the rotating blades in radar signals of drones.

Peak Detection Algorithm for Vital Sign Detection Using Doppler Radar Sensors. [PDF]

open access: yesSensors (Basel), 2019
An accurate method for detecting vital signs obtained from a Doppler radar sensor is proposed. A Doppler radar sensor can remotely obtain vital signs such as heartbeat and respiration rate, but the vital signs obtained by using the sensor do not show ...

Particle inertial effects on radar Doppler spectra simulation [PDF]

open access: yesAtmospheric Measurement Techniques, 2023
Radar Doppler spectra observations provide a wealth of information about cloud and precipitation microphysics and dynamics. The interpretation of these measurements depends on our ability to simulate these observations accurately using a forward model ...

ERUO: a spectral processing routine for the Micro Rain Radar PRO (MRR-PRO) [PDF]

open access: yesAtmospheric Measurement Techniques, 2022
The Micro Rain Radar PRO (MRR-PRO) is a K-band Doppler weather radar, using frequency-modulated continuous-wave (FMCW) signals, developed by Metek Meteorologische Messtechnik GmbH (Metek) as a successor to the MRR-2.

Vid2Doppler: Synthesizing Doppler Radar Data from Videos for Training Privacy-Preserving Activity Recognition

open access: yesInternational Conference on Human Factors in Computing Systems, 2021
Millimeter wave (mmWave) Doppler radar is a new and promising sensing approach for human activity recognition, offering signal richness approaching that of microphones and cameras, but without many of the privacy-invading downsides. However, unlike audio

Comparison of Radar Signatures from a Hybrid VTOL Fixed-Wing Drone and Quad-Rotor Drone

open access: yesDrones, 2022
Current studies rarely mention radar detection of hybrid vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) fixed-wing drones. We investigated radar signals of an industry-tier VTOL fixed-wing drone, TX25A, compared with the radar detection results of a quad-rotor ...

Human Activity Classification Based on Dual Micro-Motion Signatures Using Interferometric Radar

open access: yesRemote Sensing, 2023
Micro-Doppler signatures obtained from the Doppler radar are generally used for human activity classification. However, if the angle between the direction of motion and radar antenna broadside is greater than 60°, the micro-Doppler signatures generated ...
