Doppler Radar Clutter

IEEE Transactions on Aerospace and Navigational Electronics, 1964
Computation of the entire clutter spectrum for Doppler radar has been reduced to a few simple formulas, by integration of reflected energy between constant Doppler loci, using the fourth power range law. The results are widely applicable, and have been found in agreement with both flight tests and a computer program study.

Pulse-Doppler UWB Radar

2006 3rd International Conference on Ultrawideband and Ultrashort Impulse Signals, 2006
The Paper contains measurement results of moving targets by pulse-Doppler UWB radar. The description of a radar, principle of operation and technical specification are presented. Conditions and results of measurements are described. Feature of the presented measurements: Doppler signals of linear moving targets whose linear sizes exceed resolution of ...

Polarimetric Doppler Radar

2019
Basic principles of a polarimetric Doppler radar are described in this chapter. These include formation of the transmitted EM wave by a pulsed radar, reception of the radar signal reflected from a single scatterer, and its transformation in the antenna, microwave assembly, and two receivers for orthogonally polarized components of the backscattered EM ...

CHIRP Doppler radar

Proceedings of the IEEE, 1984
The idea of combining the clinical procedure known as Reconstruction Tomography, and the radar processing for linear FM pulse compression, in order to map radar backscatter energy, is explained. A possible configuration is described.

Canada’s Operational Doppler Radar

1990
The King Weather Radar Research Station of the Atmospheric Environment Service (AES), located north of the metropolitan Toronto area in Southern Ontario, is a component of the Canadian weather service radar network. The only Doppler weather radar in the country, it was instituted as part of the research program of the Cloud Physics Division of AES and ...

Pulse-Doppler Radar

2004
A Doppler radar is defined by as 'a radar which uses the Doppler effect to determine the radial component of relative radar target velocity or to select targets having particular radial velocities.' A pulse-Doppler (or pulsed-Doppler) (PD) radar is defined as 'a Doppler radar that uses pulsed transmissions.' PD radar is used extensively for detecting ...

DC coupled Doppler radar physiological monitor

2011 Annual International Conference of the IEEE Engineering in Medicine and Biology Society, 2011
One of the challenges in Doppler radar systems for physiological monitoring is a large DC offset in baseband outputs. Typically, AC coupling is used to eliminate this DC offset. Since the physiological signals of interest include frequency content near DC, it is not desirable to simply use AC coupling on the radar outputs. While AC coupling effectively

Polarimetric Doppler Weather Radar

2001
This 2001 book provides a detailed introduction to the principles of Doppler and polarimetric radar, focusing in particular on their use in the analysis of weather systems. The design features and operation of practical radar systems are highlighted throughout the book in order to illustrate important theoretical foundations.
