Properties of the MIMO radar ambiguity function [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
MIMO (multiple-input multiple-output) radar is an emerging technology which has drawn considerable attention. Unlike the traditional SIMO (single-input multiple-output) radar, which transmits scaled versions of a single waveform in the antenna elements ...

Moving target detection in clutter background with FDA-MIMO radar via three-dimensional focus processing

open access: yesThe Journal of Engineering, 2019
Low observable moving target-detection technology under clutter background is the key factor affecting the radar performance. Here, frequency diverse array (FDA) MIMO radar is investigated for low-observable moving target detection.

The relationship between VHF radar auroral backscatter amplitude and Doppler velocity: a statistical study [PDF]

open access: yesAnnales Geophysicae, 1996
A statistical investigation of the relationship between VHF radar auroral backscatter intensity and Doppler velocity has been undertaken with data collected from 8 years operation of the Wick site of the Sweden And Britain Radar-auroral Experiment ...

Evaluation of meteorological airborne Doppler radar [PDF]

open access: yes, 1984
This paper will discuss the capabilities of airborne Doppler radar for atmospheric sciences research. The evaluation is based on airborne and ground based Doppler radar observations of convective storms.

Design, Simulation, and Fabrication of High‐Performance Metamaterial Absorber for EMI Mitigation and THz NDT/Imaging Applications: A Shape‐Preserved GHz‐to‐THz Transition Approach

open access: yesAdvanced Theory and Simulations, EarlyView.
A novel metamaterial absorber is designed, simulated, and validated for both 5G mmWave and THz applications, achieving >95.8% and 90% absorption, respectively. Its polarization‐insensitive, scalable design enables applications in THz NDT, imaging, and EMI shielding.

A model for gravity-wave spectra observed by Doppler sounding systems [PDF]

open access: yes, 1986
A model for Mesosphere - Stratosphere - Troposphere (MST) radar spectra is developed following the formalism presented by Pinkel (1981). Expressions for the one-dimensional spectra of radial velocity versus frequency and versus radial wave number are ...

Doppler Spectrum Estimation by Ramanujan Fourier Transforms [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
The Doppler spectrum estimation of a weather radar signal in a classic way can be made by two methods, temporal one based in the autocorrelation of the successful signals, whereas the other one uses the estimation of the power spectral density PSD by ...

Fluorescence Guided Surgery in Gastric Cancer: What Do We Have and What Can We Do?

open access: yesAnnals of Gastroenterological Surgery, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background and Objective Fluorescence imaging has emerged as a valuable adjunct in gastric surgery, enhancing resection precision and oncologic outcomes. However, the use of indocyanine green (ICG) remains controversial due to uncertainties in efficacy and administration. A lack of standardized protocols persists.

Improved rain rate and drop size retrievals from airborne Doppler radar [PDF]

open access: yesAtmospheric Chemistry and Physics, 2017
Satellite remote sensing of rain is important for quantifying the hydrological cycle, atmospheric energy budget, and cloud and precipitation processes; however, radar retrievals of rain rate are sensitive to assumptions about the raindrop size ...

SARchaeological Prospection: Synthetic Aperture Radar for the Reconstruction and Mapping of Temperate Floodplain Environments

open access: yesArchaeological Prospection, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Temperate river floodplains present a significant challenge for archaeologists, as cultural and palaeoenvironmental remains are often difficult to locate but can be exceptionally well preserved, especially where groundwater levels are high. In these alluvial environments, the deposition of thick, fine‐grained sediments has potential to deeply ...
