Code Optimization and Angle-Doppler Imaging for ST-CDM LFMCW MIMO Radar Systems [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2023
We consider code optimization and angle-Doppler imaging for slow-time code division multiplexing (ST-CDM) linear frequency-modulated continuous-wave (LFMCW) multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) radar systems. We optimize the slow-time code via the minimization of a Cram{\'e}r-Rao Bound (CRB)-based metric to enhance the parameter estimation performance.

Doppler Radar Techniques for Accurate Respiration Characterization and Subject Identification

open access: yesIEEE Journal on Emerging and Selected Topics in Circuits and Systems, 2018
A low distortion dc coupled CW radar system with high signal to noise ratio is capable of accurate representation of respiration in human subjects. We propose to test the hypothesis that a non-contact physiological radar monitoring system which measures ...

Application of Dual Frequency Comb Method as an Approach to Improve the Performance of Multi-Frequency Simultaneous Radiation Doppler Radar for High Temperature Plasma Diagnostics

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2022
A new Doppler radar using millimeter-waves in the Ka-band, named the “dual-comb Doppler reflectometer”, has been developed to measure the turbulence intensity and its velocity in high-temperature plasmas. For the realization of a fusion power generation,

Improved rain rate and drop size retrievals from airborne Doppler radar [PDF]

open access: yesAtmospheric Chemistry and Physics, 2017
Satellite remote sensing of rain is important for quantifying the hydrological cycle, atmospheric energy budget, and cloud and precipitation processes; however, radar retrievals of rain rate are sensitive to assumptions about the raindrop size ...

S-Band Doppler Wave Radar System [PDF]

open access: yesRemote Sensing, 2017
In this paper, a novel shore-based S-band microwave Doppler coherent wave radar (Microwave Ocean Remote SEnsor (MORSE)) is designed to improve wave measurements. Marine radars, which operate in the X band, have been widely used for ocean monitoring because of their low cost, small size and flexibility.

On methods for assessment of the value of observations in convection‐permitting data assimilation and numerical weather forecasting

open access: yesQuarterly Journal of the Royal Meteorological Society, EarlyView.
The routine assimilation of large numbers of observations collected from various observing systems is essential for the skill of modern numerical weather prediction (NWP). Assessment of the impact and influence of different observation types provides evidence guiding the design of future observation networks and the evaluation and improvement of ...
