Two‐dimensional reference map for the basic proteome of the human dorsolateral prefrontal cortex (dlPFC) of the prefrontal lobe region of the brain

PROTEOMICS, 2010
AbstractWe describe a 2‐DE proteomic reference map containing 227 basic proteins in the dorsolateral prefrontal cortex region of the human brain. Proteins were separated in the first dimension on pH 6–11 IPG strips using paper‐bridge loading and on 12% SDS‐PAGE in the second dimension.

Modulation of risk-taking in marijuana users by transcranial direct current stimulation (tDCS) of the dorsolateral prefrontal cortex (DLPFC)

Drug and Alcohol Dependence, 2010
Cognitive deficits that are reported in heavy marijuana users (attention, memory, affect perception, decision-making) appear to be completely reversible after a prolonged abstinence period of about 28 days. However, it remains unclear whether the reversibility of these cognitive deficits indicates that (1) chronic marijuana use is not associated with ...

Neural correlates of trait resiliency: Evidence from electrical stimulation of the dorsolateral prefrontal cortex (dLPFC) and orbitofrontal cortex (OFC)

Personality and Individual Differences, 2017
Abstract The topic of trait resiliency has recently been studied in many fields including personality psychology, clinical psychology and health sciences. Neuroimaging studies show some regions in the prefrontal cortex that are involved in resilience and coping behaviour.

The dorsolateral prefrontal cortex in idiom interpretation: An rTMS study

open access: yesBrain Research Bulletin, 2007
Neuropsychological studies have suggested that a prefrontal lesion can impair idiom comprehension. We tested the role of the dorsolateral prefrontal cortex (DLPFC) in idiom processing by using repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) in normal

Repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) of the dorsolateral prefrontal cortex (DLPFC) during capsaicin-induced pain: modulatory effects on motor cortex excitability

Experimental Brain Research, 2010
Evidence by functional imaging studies suggests the role of left DLPFC in the inhibitory control of nociceptive transmission system. Pain exerts an inhibitory modulation on motor cortex, reducing MEP amplitude, while the effect of pain on motor intracortical excitability has not been studied so far. In the present study, we explored in healthy subjects

FV 8. The effect of repeated blocks of intermittant theta burst stimulation (iTBS) over the dorsolateral prefrontal cortex (dlPFC) on fronto-striatal connectivity. A 18F-DesmethoxyFallypride (DMFP) Positron Emission Tomography study (PET)

Clinical Neurophysiology, 2021
Background. Frontostriatal networks are neural pathways formed between frontal lobe regions and striatum that is involved in cognitive and behavioural processes. Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) is able to modulate connectivity in the human brain and it is widely used for clinical purposes to treat depression patients.

Alpha-Synchronized Stimulation of the Dorsolateral Prefrontal Cortex (DLPFC) in Major Depression: A Proof-of-Principle EEG-TMS Study

2018
High-frequency repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) of the left dorsolateral prefrontal cortex (DLPFC) shows therapeutic potential in pharmaco-resistant patients with major depression. However, clinical efficacy is limited by high inter-individual variability and low response rates.

Does dorsolateral prefrontal cortex (DLPFC) activation return to baseline when sexual stimuli cease? The role of DLPFC in visual sexual stimulation.

Neuroscience letters, 2007
A fundamental question in human sexuality regards the neural substrate underlying sexually-arousing representations. Lesion and neuroimaging studies suggest that dorsolateral pre-frontal cortex (DLPFC) plays an important role in regulating the processing of visual sexual stimulation.

The Effect of Cathodal Transcranial Direct-Current Stimulation c-tDCS) of Dorsolateral Prefrontal Cortex DLPFC) on Learning Simple Serves in Beginner Volleyball Learners

2019
This study aimed at determining the effect of cathodal Transcranial Direct-Current Stimulation (c-tDCS) of Dorsolateral Prefrontal Cortex (DLPFC) on learning simple volleyball serves. This semi-experimental study was performed as pre-test and post-test with a control group.

The contribution of the left dorsolateral prefrontal cortex (DLPFC) as metacognitive control mechanism in attentional performance. An rTMS application

2012
The cortical contribution in response to sustained attention was explored in the present research by using brain stimulation. Thus, repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) is a potent tool that can be used to modify activity of targeted cortical areas.
