Cholestyramine: An Effective, Twice-Daily Dosage Regimen

Annals of Internal Medicine, 1976
Nine patients with familial hypercholesterolemia (type II hyperlipoproteinemia) and two normal volunteers were studied to ascertain the effectiveness of cholestyramine in lowering plasma cholesterol when a twice-a-day dosage regimen was compared with the same total dosage administered four times a day.

Progress in Strategies for Dosage Regimen Individualization

Current Topics in Medicinal Chemistry, 2012
Several findings suggest that patient outcome would be improved with individualized doses. The aim of this paper is to describe major approaches, methods and underlying basic foundations implemented, in clinical practice, for dosage individualization.

Individualizing Vancomycin Dosage Regimens

Therapeutic Drug Monitoring, 1989
The absolute and relative predictive performances of one- and two-compartment Bayesian forecasting models were evaluated and compared. Initial population parameters were derived from 25 adult patients with stable renal function and who were being treated for presumed or documented gram-positive infections.

Dosage regimen calculations with optimal control theory

International Journal of Bio-Medical Computing, 1994
In clinical pharmacokinetics, dosage regimen calculation involves determination of either: (1) the drug amount to be administered according to a set time schedule, or (2) the time schedule to be used for appropriate drug amounts. The goal is to guarantee that the time profile of circulating drug levels is between the thresholds of toxicity and efficacy.

Optimization of contraceptive dosage regimen of Centchroman☆

Contraception, 2001
Centchroman (Ormeloxifene), a non-steroidal oral contraceptive, is used at a dose of 30 mg once a week. To prevent failures in the beginning of the therapy, it is recommended that a dose of 30 mg twice a week for 12 weeks be administered to build up adequate blood levels.

Dosage regimen of fingolimod

2011
S1P receptor modulators or agonists are administered following a dosage regimen whereby during the initial 3 to 6 days of treatment the daily dosage is raised so that in total the R-fold (R being the accumulation factor) standard daily dosage is administered and thereafter continued at the standard daily dosage or at a daily dosage lower than the ...

Appropriate nitroxoline dosage regimen design.

International journal of clinical pharmacology and biopharmacy, 1980
Clinically used dosage regimen of nitroxoline, three times 100 mg daily, was proved to be inappropriate because the successfulness of medical treatment was rarely sufficient. Nitroxoline, used as urinary antiseptic, exhibits its antibacterial activity in concentrations higher than 6 mg/l, as demonstrated in many "in vitro" experiments.
