Dose-Area-Product to Effective Dose in Interventional Cardiology and Radiology

2009
In this paper is explained how systematic tables are calculated for the determination of organ doses and effective dose from DAP values for interventional radiology and cardiology. This information is useful as an additional tool for dose optimization of patients for complex high-dose procedures.

Conversion factors to estimate effective doses from kerma area product in interventional cardiology. Impact of added filtration.

Physica medica (Testo stampato), 2019
There is a large variation in the factors used to estimate effective doses from kerma area product (KAP) for interventional cardiology. These factors are required to estimate population doses.

Automatic system for measuring dose - area product (DAP) in ROI fluoroscopy

Physics in Medicine and Biology, 1997
A computerized system for monitoring dose-area product (DAP) has been developed for region of interest (ROI) fluoroscopy in which patient exposure is reduced using an x-ray attenuating filter with an aperture. The system includes an IBM compatible computer which is connected through an IEEE-488 interface to an electrometer which measures the charge ...

The universal use of dose-area-product values as a tool for patient radiation protection: a need for standardized dose-area-product meter calibration

2011
Purpose: Interventional procedures in radiology and cardiology may deliver an important skin dose to the patient.Different cases are reported for which patients suffered from deterministic skin damage after a complex interventional procedure under guidance...
