Dose length product to effective dose coefficients in adults

European Radiology, 2023
The most accurate method for estimating patient effective dose (a principal metric for tracking patient radiation exposure) from computed tomography (CT) requires time-intensive Monte Carlo simulation. A simpler method multiplies a scalar coefficient by the widely available scanner-reported dose length product (DLP) to estimate effective dose.

Neutron dose coefficients for local skin

Journal of Radiological Protection, 2020
A draft report by the International Commission on Radiation Units and Measurements (ICRU) Report Committee 26 (RC26) will recommend alternative definitions of the operational quantities that are better estimators of radiation protection quantities. Dose coefficients for use with physical field quantities-fluence and, for photons, air kerma-are given ...

Local Dose Coefficients for Radionuclide Contamination in Wounds

Health Physics, 2023
Abstract When a radiation accident has occurred that leads to radioactive material being imparted to a wound, this is treated as an internal contamination scenario. It is common for the material to transport throughout the body based upon biokinetics of the material in the body.
