Comparison of Dot-Elisa with Sandwich-Elisa for the Detection of Circulating Antigens in Patients with Bancroftian Filariasis

The American Journal of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene, 1990
We compared the performance of a newly developed Dot-ELISA with that of a previously described Sandwich-ELISA to detect parasite antigens in sera from patients with bancroftian filariasis. The same monoclonal antibody and the same sera were used in both tests.

Dot-ELISA in detection of filarial antibodies: comparison with standard ELISA.

Journal of hygiene, epidemiology, microbiology, and immunology, 1990
The present study deals with the preliminary results of two assays, standard ELISA and dot ELISA compared for their sensitivity in measuring humoral immune responses in filarial patients and normals residing in an area of bancroftian filariasis using a heterologous antigen.

Diagnosis of Echinococcosis (Hydatidosis) Using Dot-ELISA

The Egyptian Journal of Hospital Medicine, 2016
Background:cystic echinococcosis (CE) is a complex, chronic and neglected disease caused by the larval stage of Echinococcus granulosus. The effects of this neglection have a powerful impact in remote rural areas whose population has no chances of being diagnosed and treated correctly without leaving their works and travelling long distances, sometimes

Rapid detection of potato viruses by dot-ELISA

Potato Research, 1988
The dot-ELISA, an immunosorbent assay on nitrocellulose (NC) membranes, was applied to potato viruses. The sensitivity of the test, as determined by visual assessment of the colour reactions in serial dilutions, allowed a reliable detection of the potato viruses M, S, X, Y, A and of potato leafroll virus in leaves of non-potato hosts and potato plants.

Dot-enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (dot-ELISA) for the diagnosis of schistosomiasis.

Journal of the Egyptian Society of Parasitology, 1989
We describe a dot enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (dot-ELISA) as a field applicable tool for the rapid diagnosis of schistosomiasis. This antibody capture assay is performed using 50 ng protein of crude Schistosoma mansoni egg antigen (SEA) in 1 microliter volumes per dot. Sera (1 microliter/dot) at 1:40 dilution were optimal.

Detection of leprosy antigenuria through DOT-ELISA.

Indian journal of leprosy, 1989
Fifty-five samples of urine from different grades of leprosy patients and normal persons were processed for detection of PGL-1 antigen through DOT-ELISA on nitrocellulose paper strips using anti-human IgG horse raddish peroxidaseconjugate. About 66.6% of the paucibacillary and 100% of the multibacillary leprosy cases were detectable through this ...

Dot-ELISA as a diagnostic test in hydatid disease.

Journal of the Egyptian Society of Parasitology, 1992
Detection of circulating echinococcal antigens and antibodies were tried in 18 patients with hydatid disease and 32 healthy blood donors as controls using dot-ELISA. Hydatid cyst fluid antigen and anti-echinococcal hyperimmune rabbit sera were used for the detection of antibodies and antigens respectively. The results proved that this test is sensitive

[Studies on the early serodiagnosis of leptospirosis by dot-ELISA].

Zhonghua liu xing bing xue za zhi = Zhonghua liuxingbingxue zazhi, 1995
Thirty serum samples of patients with early leptospirosis from whom cultures of leptospira were positive were tested by dot-enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (dot-ELISA) and microscopical agglutination test (MAT). The results showed that the positive rate of dot-ELISA (40%) was higher than that of MAT (13.3%). One-hundred and ninety-eight serum samples
