4D‐Printed Magneto‐Plasmonic Microrobots for Programmable Spatiotemporal De‐Icing

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A 4D‐printing strategy is introduced to achieve programmable de‐icing devices. By aligning gold–magnetite nanofillers within a photosensitive resin, the printed structures exhibit dual magnetic and plasmonic functionalities, enabling precise spatio‐temporal ice removal through thermoplasmonic effects.

Study of heat and mass transport in Couple-Stress liquid under G-jitter effect

open access: yesAin Shams Engineering Journal, 2018
In the present paper, we deal with the effect of G-jitter (time periodic gravity modulation) on the stability of double diffusive convection in couple stress liquid by method of non-linear analysis. The infinitesimal disturbances are expanded in terms of

DOUBLE-DIFFUSIVE CONVECTION IN LIQUID FREON

open access: yesProceeding of International Heat Transfer Conference 11, 1998
When a fluid initially stratified by a vertical variation of species concentration is heated from a sidewall, the classic thermal convection could be dramatically altered by the stable gradient of mass. The convection starts near the heated wall but it is then limited to "convective cells" separated by diffusive interfaces with sharp variation of ...

Strategies for Loading and Releasing Peptide Therapeutics in Biodegradable Carriers

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A biodegradable carrier‐based peptide delivery system is a powerful treatment platform for diverse diseases, owing to its superior therapeutic efficacy and low toxicity. This review examines the conventional peptide‐loaded carrier fabrication process and its current limitations.

Engineering Strategies for Stable and Long‐Life Alkaline Zinc‐Based Flow Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Alkaline zinc‐based flow batteries face persistent challenges from unstable zinc deposition, including dendrite growth, passivation, corrosion, and hydrogen evolution, which severely limit cycling stability. Current research addresses these issues through coordinated electrode structuring, electrolyte regulation, and membrane design to control zinc ...

Second Law Analysis in Convective Heat and Mass Transfer

open access: yesEntropy, 2006
This paper reports the numerical determination of the entropy generation due to heat transfer, mass transfer and fluid friction in steady state for laminar double diffusive convection, in an inclined enclosure with heat and mass diffusive walls, by ...

Numerically determined transport laws for fingering ("thermohaline") convection in astrophysics [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
We present the first three-dimensional simulations of fingering convection performed in a parameter regime close to the one relevant for astrophysics, and reveal the existence of simple asymptotic scaling laws for turbulent heat and compositional ...

From convection rolls to finger convection in double-diffusive turbulence [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the National Academy of Sciences, 2015
Significance Double-diffusive convection occurs in many natural flows with fluid density determined by two scalar components, such as the thermohaline convection in the ocean. It plays a crucial role in mixing and scalar transport. Here we report a systematic study of such flow under a destabilizing salinity gradient and a stabilizing ...

Graphene Nanosheet‐Based Mixed Proton‐Electron Conducting Membranes for Efficient Hydrogen Purification

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A monolayer graphene/phosphoric‐acid mixed proton‐electron conducting membrane combines proton‐conducting nanoconfined acid channels with electron‐conducting graphene nanosheets for efficient high‐temperature hydrogen purification. The membrane achieves nearly 100% H2/CO2 selectivity and 69 GPU hydrogen permeance at 250°C, arising from synergistic ...
