Rotating double-diffusive convection in stably stratified planetary cores [PDF]
International audienceIn planetary fluid cores, the density depends on temperature and chemical composition, which diffuse at very different rates. This leads to various instabilities, bearing the name of double-diffusive convection.

Root‐Stimulated Movements in Mimosa Pudica for Biohybrid Robotic Systems
This study demonstrates that thermal and electrical stimulation of Mimosa pudica root induces movement of the petiole and pinnules without direct stimulation of the aerial organs, thereby enabling a plant‐based robotic gripper and providing a foundation for the development of intelligent and sustainable systems.

Lymphoid‐Tissue‐on‐Chip Recapitulates Human Antibody Responses In Vitro
The presented lymphoid‐tissue‐on‐chip system allows culture of primary human tonsil cells at organotypic high density under perfusion for up to 4 weeks, emulates immune response to soluble vaccines and vaccination via peripheral antigen‐presenting cells and represents a useful tool to assess cellular interactions during homeostasis, immune responses ...

Double-Diffusive Convection [PDF]
The article of record as published may be found at https://darchive.mblwhoilibrary.org/handle/1912/2803Even in systems with a negative vertical density gradient, instability is possible if the density is controlled by two components (e.g.

Laser‐induced graphene (LIG) provides a scalable, laser‐direct‐written route to porous graphene architecture with tunable chemistry and defect density. Through heterojunction engineering, catalytic functionalization, and intrinsic self‐heating, LIG achieves highly sensitive and selective detection of NOX, NH3, H2, and humidity, supporting next ...

The Physics Of Double-Diffusive Convection In The Arctic Ocean
My dissertation investigates the physics of double-diffusive convection, a small-scale mixing process that causes vertical heat transport from Arctic Ocean waters toward the overlying sea ice cover. This diffusive-convective mechanism is evidenced by its

Highly Flexible and Conformable ZnO/FeGa Magnetoelectric Heterostructures for Skin wound Healing
The magnetic field‐induced electric field generated by a highly flexile ZnO(piezoelectric)/FeGa(magnetostrictive) magnetoelectric heterostructure embedded in the low Young's modulus elastomer PDMS has been used to stimulate the wound healing processes.

Constraints on the Long-term Existence of Dilute Cores in Giant Planets
Post-Cassini ring seismology analysis suggests the existence of a stable stratification inside Saturn that extends from the center to ∼60% of its radius, in what is recognized today as Saturn’s dilute core.
