Design of double-walled carbon nanotubes for biomedical applications [PDF]

open access: yesNanotechnology, 2012
Double-walled carbon nanotubes (DWNTs) prepared by catalytic chemical vapour deposition were functionalized in such a way that they were optimally designed as a nano-vector for the delivery of small interfering RNA (siRNA), which is of great interest for biomedical research and drug development.

Bromination of Double-Walled Carbon Nanotubes [PDF]

open access: yesChemistry of Materials, 2012
Double-walled carbon nanotubes (DWCNTs) synthesized by catalytic chemical vapor deposition (CCVD) have been functionalized by bromine vapor at room temperature. At least two different bromine species were detected in the product using X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and thermal gravimetric analysis.

Hydrogels from a Self-Assembling Tripeptide and Carbon Nanotubes (CNTs): Comparison between Single-Walled and Double-Walled CNTs

open access: yesNanomaterials, 2023
Supramolecular hydrogels obtained from the self-organization of simple peptides, such as tripeptides, are attractive soft materials. Their viscoelastic properties can be enhanced through the inclusion of carbon nanomaterials (CNMs), although their ...

Rhodamine B Photodegradation in Aqueous Solutions Containing Nitrogen Doped TiO2 and Carbon Nanotubes Composites

open access: yesMolecules, 2021
In this work, new results concerning the potential of mixtures based on nitrogen doped titanium dioxide (TiO2:N) and carbon nanotubes (CNTs) as possible catalyst candidates for the rhodamine B (RhB) UV photodegradation are reported.

Superconductivity in Bundles of Double-Wall Carbon Nanotubes [PDF]

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2012
AbstractWe present electrical and thermal specific heat measurements that show superconductivity in double-wall carbon nanotube (DWCNT) bundles. Clear evidence, comprising a resistance drop as a function of temperature, magnetoresistance and differential resistance signature of the supercurrent, suggest an intrinsic superconducting transition below 6.8

Rotational Dynamics and Friction in Double-Walled Carbon Nanotubes [PDF]

open access: yesPhysical Review Letters, 2006
We report a study of the rotational dynamics in double-walled nanotubes using molecular dynamics simulations and a simple analytical model reproducing very well the observations. We show that the dynamic friction is linear in the angular velocity for a wide range of values.

Catalytic CVD Synthesis of Double and Triple-walled Carbon Nanotubes by the Control of the Catalyst Preparation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
We report the influence of catalyst preparation conditions for the synthesis of carbon nanotubes (CNTs) by catalytic chemical vapour deposition (CCVD). Catalysts were prepared by the combustion route using either urea or citric acid as the fuel. We found

Investigating the Effect of Carbon Nanotube Diameter and Wall Number in Carbon Nanotube/Silicon Heterojunction Solar Cells

open access: yesNanomaterials, 2016
Suspensions of single-walled, double-walled and multi-walled carbon nanotubes (CNTs) were generated in the same solvent at similar concentrations. Films were fabricated from these suspensions and used in carbon nanotube/silicon heterojunction solar cells
