New Method Based on Improved Double Ball Bar for Measuring Geometric Motion Errors of Coordinate Measuring Machine

open access: yesInternational Journal of Automation Technology, 2018
In this paper, an optimized method of measuring the geometric motion errors of a coordinate measuring machine (CMM) is proposed. The method is based on an improved double ball bar (DBB) that acquires the motion and link errors of the CMM and its actual rotation angles through simultaneous circular tests.

Electrocapillary Modulated Interfacial Tension Amplifies Liquid Metal Transduction

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study presented an electrocapillary‐enhanced magnetohydrodynamic pumping strategy that harnesses the Lorentz force and interfacial tension modulation of liquid metal droplets to achieve amplified fluidic power. The system enabled low‐voltage, self‐oscillating fluidic transduction with enhanced pressure and flow generation, supporting compact ...

Support‐Controlled Reaction Pathways via Dynamic Sulfur‐Mediated Interfaces for Selective Urea Electrolysis

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Sulfur‐doped graphitized carbon nanofibers act as adaptive catalyst–support platforms, enabling dynamic sulfur‐mediated reconstruction and strong metal–support interactions. This unique behavior enhances catalyst stability and controls reaction pathways, achieving highly selective urea oxidation (∼92% N2) coupled with efficient hydrogen evolution ...

A Ball Bar Measurement Scheme with Single-Axis Rotation Modes for Position-Independent Geometric Error Identification in Dual Rotary Table Five-Axis Machine Tools

open access: yesSensors
Position-independent geometric errors (PIGEs) of rotary axes are critical factors limiting the machining accuracy of five-axis machine tools. Aiming at the accurate identification of rotary-axis PIGEs for dual rotary table five-axis machine tools, this ...

Strong Lead‐Free Bioinspired Piezoceramics for Durable Energy Transducers

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
We fabricated brick‐and‐mortar lead‐free piezoceramics with Bi0.5Na0.5TiO3 monocrystal platelets as bricks and amorphous silica as mortar. The alignment of the bricks and the presence of the amorphous silica led to anisotropic residual stresses. These residual stresses increase the samples toughness, strength and durability while the brick alignment ...

Functionalizing Micro‐to‐Mesoscopic Electrode Architectures for Regulating Electron Transfer Behaviors in Electrocatalysis

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A systematic review is conducted to assess the influence of electrode architecture across micro‐ to mesoscopic length scales on electron‐transfer pathways in electrocatalysis. We discuss the structure‐activity relationships in electrocatalytic applications, including resource recovery and environmental remediation, and provide cost‐effective, efficient

A Calibration Method for Coordinate Measuring Machine using Parallel Mechanism. Calibration with Double Ball Bar and Touch Trigger Probe.

open access: yesJournal of the Japan Society for Precision Engineering, 2003
This study has proposed a new coordinate measuring machine (CMM) based on a three degree-of-freedom parallel mechanism. This paper describes a kinematic calibration method using a double ball bar (DBB) system with fixed ball distance. The CMM with a touch trigger probe measures the moving ball of the DBB, and calculates position errors of the ball ...
