Numerical Solutions of Serrin’s Equations by Double Exponential Transformation

open access: yesPublications of the Research Institute for Mathematical Sciences, 2007
We consider Serrin’s equations, which describe a steady flow of the incompressible viscous fluid caused by an interaction between a vortex filament and a planar wall. They are integro-differential equations with a singularity at an end point. By means of the double exponential transformation, we numerically solve their solutions with high accuracy, and ...

Double exponential transformation in the Sinc-Galerkin method for the solution of problems in calculus of variations

open access: yesCommunications in Numerical Analysis, 2014
In this paper, sinc-Galerkin method based on the double exponential transformation is used for finding the solution of boundary value problems which arise from the problems of calculus of variations. This approximation reduces the problems to an explicit system of algebraic equations.

The Transformation of Enterovirus Replication Structures: a Three-Dimensional Study of Single- and Double-Membrane Compartments

open access: yesmBio, 2011
All positive-strand RNA viruses induce membrane structures in their host cells which are thought to serve as suitable microenvironments for viral RNA synthesis. The structures induced by enteroviruses, which are members of the family Picornaviridae, have

Mapping Growing Stem Volume of Chinese Fir Plantation Using a Saturation-based Multivariate Method and Quad-polarimetric SAR Images

open access: yesRemote Sensing, 2019
For the planning and sustainable management of forest resources, well-managed plantations are of great significance to mitigate the decrease of forested areas. Monitoring these planted forests is essential for forest resource inventories.

Quantum Gases of Dipoles, Quadrupoles and Octupoles in Gross–Pitaevskii Formalism with Form Factor

open access: yesCondensed Matter, 2020
Here, classical and quantum field theory of dipolar, axisymmetric quadrupolar and octupolar Bose gases is considered within a general approach. Dipole, axisymmetric quadrupole and octupole interaction potentials in the momentum representation are ...

Centrosymmetric Matrices in the Sinc Collocation Method for Sturm-Liouville Problems

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2016
Recently, we used the Sinc collocation method with the double exponential transformation to compute eigenvalues for singular Sturm-Liouville problems.
