A Double Exponential Formula for the Fourier Transforms

open access: yesPublications of the Research Institute for Mathematical Sciences, 2005
From the introduction: We propose a new efficient method that is applicable for the computation of the Fourier transform of a function which may possess a singular point or slowly convergence infinity. The proposed method is based on a generalization of the method of the double exponential (DF) formula. Although it is a widely applicable formula, it is

Discovery of the Double Exponential Transformation and Its Developments

open access: yesPublications of the Research Institute for Mathematical Sciences, 2005
This article is mainly concerned how the double exponential formula for numerical integration was discovered and how it has been developed thereafter. For evaluation of I = \int_{-1}^1 f(x)dx , H. Takahasi and M.

Improved Double-Arctan Transformation for the Stable Evaluation of Nearly Hypersingular Integrals in SIE

open access: yes, 2021
© 1963-2012 IEEE. The evaluation of singular or near-singular integrals is one of the key techniques in the integral equation method. Based on the previously proposed double-arctan transformation (DAT) for the nearly hypersingular integrals in curved ...

Indoor MIMO channel modelling with modified Gumbel's bivariate exponential expression based on double-directional correlation properties [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
Precise measurement and modelling of the Direction of Arrival (DoA) and Direction of Departure (DoD) in the Multiple-Input Multiple-Output (MIMO) channel based on their correlation properties and joint distributions have not been investigated properly ...

Cell‐cycle‐specific lesion evolution rather than inhibition of double‐strand‐break repair underpins cisplatin radiosensitization

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We analyze cisplatin–DNA adducts (CDAs) and double‐strand breaks (DSBs) in a cell‐cycle‐dependent manner. We find that CDAs form similarly across all cell cycle phases. DSBs arise only in S‐phase. CDAs might not directly impair DSB repair, but S‐phase DSB lesions evolve in the presence of CDAs and disrupt repair in G2, also causing radiosensitization ...

Numerical Solutions of Serrin’s Equations by Double Exponential Transformation

open access: yesPublications of the Research Institute for Mathematical Sciences, 2007
We consider Serrin’s equations, which describe a steady flow of the incompressible viscous fluid caused by an interaction between a vortex filament and a planar wall. They are integro-differential equations with a singularity at an end point. By means of the double exponential transformation, we numerically solve their solutions with high accuracy, and ...

Double exponential transformation in the Sinc-Galerkin method for the solution of problems in calculus of variations

open access: yesCommunications in Numerical Analysis, 2014
In this paper, sinc-Galerkin method based on the double exponential transformation is used for finding the solution of boundary value problems which arise from the problems of calculus of variations. This approximation reduces the problems to an explicit system of algebraic equations.

Nuclear pore links Fob1‐dependent rDNA damage relocation to lifespan control

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Damaged rDNA accumulates at a specific perinuclear interface that couples nucleolar escape with nuclear envelope association. Nuclear pores at this site help inhibit Fob1‐induced rDNA instability. This spatial organization of damage handling supports a functional link between nuclear architecture, rDNA stability, and replicative lifespan in yeast.
