All‐Solution‐Processed HgTe Quantum Dot Photodetectors for Extended Short‐Wavelength Infrared Range Enhanced by Plasmonic ITO Nanocrystals

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
All‐solution‐processed, low‐cost extended short‐wavelength infrared photodetectors are realized by coupling colloidal HgTe quantum dots to plasmonic In2O3:Sn,F nanocrystals. Localized surface plasmon resonances boost and spectrally tailor light absorption between 1500 and 3000 nm, enabling responsivities above 40 A W−1.

Role of ion hydration for the differential capacitance of an electric double layer

open access: yesPhysical Chemistry Chemical Physics, 2016
The influence of hydration-mediated ion–ion interactions on the differential capacitance of an electric double layer is investigated using Monte Carlo simulations and mean-field theory.

General Synthesis of Amorphous Pd‐Based Nanoparticles Towards Highly Efficient Nitrate‐to‐Ammonia Electrocatalysis

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A family of amorphous palladium‐based multi‐component phosphides nanoparticles, synthesized via a robust one‐step wet‐chemical method, overcoming the immiscibility of different elements and the difficulty in forming a stable, disordered structure. When applied in the electrochemical nitrate reduction reaction, these nanocatalysts effectively suppress ...

Negative capacitance and instability at electrified interfaces: Lessons from the study of membrane capacitors

open access: yesCondensed Matter Physics, 2005
Various models leading to predictions of negative capacitance, C, are briefly reviewed. Their relation to the nature of electric control is discussed.

An In Situ Oxidation Strategy for Ti3C2@TiO2 Heterojunction: Narrow‐Band Photodetection and Trace Chromium Ion Determination

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A Ti3C2@TiO2 heterostructure has been successfully fabricated by an in situ oxidation approach. The as‐fabricated Ti3C2@TiO2‐based photodetector exhibits narrow‐spectrum response with excellent stability. It also realizes sensitive Cr(VI) detection in a large concentration range of 10−12–10−6 M with an ultra‐low detection limit of 7.6 × 10−12 M ...

Reduction of Parasitic Capacitance in Vertical MOSFETs by Spacer Local Oxidation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
Application of double gate or surround-gate vertical metal oxide semiconductor field effect transistors (MOSFETs) is hindered by the parasitic overlap capacitance associated with their oayout, which is considerably larger than for a lateral MOSFET on the

High‐Efficiency PFOA Removal by Microstructure‐Engineered Ultrathin Amphiphilic Mesoporous Reduced Graphene Oxide@Silica

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study developed an amphiphilic ultrathin mesoporous adsorbent through microstructure design, which exhibits remarkable mass transport efficiency and high affinity toward PFAS, thereby achieving an ultrahigh uptake capacity and rapid kinetics for PFAS adsorption.

Effect of hydrostatic pressure on the anodic dissolution process of X80 steel

open access: yesJournal of Materials Research and Technology
Based on the fact that hydrostatic pressure affects chemical potentials of reaction species and the structure evolution of electric double layer (EDL), the authors propose a generalized-BV equation to analyze the anodic dissolution process of X80 steel ...

Measuring the Double Layer Capacitance of Electrolyte Solutions for a Graphene Field Effect Transisitor [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
When operating graphene field effect transistors (GFETs) in fluid, a double layer capacitance (Cdl) is formed at the surface. In the literature, numbers from experiments using metal electrodes are quoted to calculate the Cdl.
