An Assorted Design for Joint Monitoring of Process Parameters: An Efficient Approach for Fuel Consumption

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2019
Due to high fuel consumption, we face the problem of not only the increased cost, but it also affects greenhouse gas emission. This paper presents an assorted approach for monitoring fuel consumption in trucks with the objective to minimize fuel ...

Wave Signatures in Total Electron Content Variations: Filtering Problems

open access: yesRemote Sensing, 2020
Over recent years, global navigation satellite systems (GNSSs) have been increasingly used to study near-Earth space. The basis for such studies is the total electron content (TEC) data.

Time after time – circadian clocks through the lens of oscillator theory

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Oscillator theory bridges physics and circadian biology. Damped oscillators require external drivers, while limit cycles emerge from delayed feedback and nonlinearities. Coupling enables tissue‐level coherence, and entrainment aligns internal clocks with environmental cues.

A Nonparametric Double Homogeneously Weighted Moving Average Signed-Rank Control Chart for Monitoring Location Parameter

open access: yesMathematics
Nonparametric control charts are widely used in many manufacturing processes when there is a lack of knowledge about the distribution that the quality characteristic of interest follows.

The newfound relationship between extrachromosomal DNAs and excised signal circles

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Extrachromosomal DNAs (ecDNAs) contribute to the progression of many human cancers. In addition, circular DNA by‐products of V(D)J recombination, excised signal circles (ESCs), have roles in cancer progression but have largely been overlooked. In this Review, we explore the roles of ecDNAs and ESCs in cancer development, and highlight why these ...

Sequence determinants of RNA G‐quadruplex unfolding by Arg‐rich regions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We show that Arg‐rich peptides selectively unfold RNA G‐quadruplexes, but not RNA stem‐loops or DNA/RNA duplexes. This length‐dependent activity is inhibited by acidic residues and is conserved among SR and SR‐related proteins (SRSF1, SRSF3, SRSF9, U1‐70K, and U2AF1).

Time-series clustering and forecasting household electricity demand using smart meter data

open access: yesEnergy Reports, 2023
This study forecasts electricity consumption in a smart grid environment. We present a bottom-up prediction method using a combination of forecasting values based on time-series clustering using advanced metering infrastructure (AMI) data, one of the ...

Inhibiting stearoyl‐CoA desaturase suppresses bone metastatic prostate cancer by modulating cellular stress, mTOR signaling, and DNA damage response

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Bone metastasis in prostate cancer (PCa) patients is a clinical hurdle due to the poor understanding of the supportive bone microenvironment. Here, we identify stearoyl‐CoA desaturase (SCD) as a tumor‐promoting enzyme and potential therapeutic target in bone metastatic PCa.

FORECASTING INDONESIA COMPOSITE INDEX USING HYBRID AUTOREGRESSIVE INTEGRATED MOVING AVERAGE-DOUBLE RANDOM FOREST MODEL

open access: yesBarekeng
Modeling time series data using autoregressive integrated moving average (ARIMA) has been widely discussed. However, this has limitations in that it can only handle linear data.

Structural biology of ferritin nanocages

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Ferritin is a conserved iron‐storage protein that sequesters iron as a ferric mineral core within a nanocage, protecting cells from oxidative damage and maintaining iron homeostasis. This review discusses ferritin biology, structure, and function, and highlights recent cryo‐EM studies revealing mechanisms of ferritinophagy, cellular iron uptake, and ...
