Abstract Gradient coatings with excellent physical and mechanical properties show great potential for use in engineering applications. In this study, a TaN gradient-modified layer was prepared on TA15 titanium alloy by double-cathode glow plasma alloying (DGPA) with a gradient structure pretreated by rotationally accelerated shot peening (RASP).

Improvement of spring fatigue strength by new warm stress double shot peening process
Materials Science and Technology, 2002Abstract Shot peening technology plays a very important role in improving the fatigue strength of springs. In the present paper a new warm stress double shot peening (WSDSP) process developed by the authors is described. The authors have previously proposed a warm stress shot peening (WSSP) process, which is a combination of warm shot peening (WSP) and

Effect of Double Shot Peening on Room-Temperature Notched Fatigue Property of TC4 Titanium Alloy
Materials Science Forum, 2015Single shot peening (SSP) with cast-iron shot and double shot peening (DSP) with cast-iron shot and ceramic shot were applied to investigate the relationship between surface integrity status and the fatigue property of titanium alloy TC4 on the notched specimens (stress concentration coefficient Kt=1.7).

Abstract The present investigation deals with the effect of Severe Double Shot Peening (SDSP) of Peening pre-weldment and Post peening weldment on microstructure properties of Ti 6Al-4V and Titanium Grade 2 dissimilar joint made by laser beam welding. Laser beam welding was performed for butt joint configuration.

Fatigue & Fracture of Engineering Materials & Structures, 2000
The technique of shot peening is commonly used to increase the fatigue limit of a steel. However, there are many practical difficulties in applying it to very high HV steel and complicated components. To overcome these problems, the authors proposed two new methods: stress double shot peening and stress reflection double shot peening.

Residual Stress Asymmetry in Thin Sheets of Double-Sided Shot Peened Aluminum
Journal of Materials Engineering and Performance, 2019The local mechanical properties and residual stresses of a double-sided shot-peened aluminum alloy AA7050-T7451 sheet were measured by nanoindentation and simulated by the finite element method (FEM). The variation of the pileup area around the indentation due to residual stresses, as well as changes in hardness as a function of cold working, was ...
