A reverse current tracking based LVRT strategy for doubly fed induction generator (DFIG)

IECON 2013 - 39th Annual Conference of the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society, 2013
This paper proposed an improved control strategy for doubly fed induction generator (DFIG) to enhance its low voltage ride-through (LVRT) capability. Under serious grid faults, the rotor side induced electromotive force (EMF) would exceed the maximum output voltage of the rotor side converter (RSC), leading to over-currents and runaway of DFIG and RSC.

Modeling of doubly fed induction generator (DFIG) equipped wind turbine for dynamic studies

2008 43rd International Universities Power Engineering Conference, 2008
The paper is aimed at presenting the dynamic behaviour of a wind turbine equipped with a doubly fed induction generator (DFIG) in case of disturbances in the interconnected grid. A model of a DFIG is presented and adapted for analyzing the response of the wind generator to voltage control, frequency control, voltage sags and wind variations ...

Decoupled active and reactive power control of a Doubly-Fed Induction Generator (DFIG)

2007 Mediterranean Conference on Control & Automation, 2007
In this paper a decoupled control of a doubly-fed induction machine used in generation mode (DFIG) is presented. It provides decoupled regulation of the primary side active and reactive power and it is suitable for both electric energy generation and drive applications. The mathematical model of the machine written in an appropriate d-q reference frame

A novel linear controller for grid connected doubly fed induction generator (DFIG)

2012 International Conference on Advances in Power Conversion and Energy Technologies (APCET), 2012
The advent of rising electrical energy consumption gave rise to a steady increase in the demand on power generation. So, in addition to conventional power generation units a number of renewable energy units are increasingly being integrated into the system.

An Improved Technique of Wind Power Harvesting With a Doubly Fed Induction Generator (DFIG)

2018 IEEE 8th Power India International Conference (PIICON), 2018
The paper presents that the improved green power harvesting technique is proposed by the variable speed conditions of the doubly fed induction generator (DFIG) at the site of the wind farms. The DFIG system plays an important elucidation to meet up the power demand for the grid mode of the operations as a unique technique of the robust energy ...

Power System Oscillation Damping Capability of Doubly Fed Induction Generator (DFIG)

2018 IEEE/PES Transmission and Distribution Conference and Exposition (T&D), 2018
The increasing amount of wind power generation essentially replaces the conventional synchronous generators of the power system, thereby, reducing the total inertia of the system. Reduced inertia of the system is expected to hamper the system response during contingencies.

Doubly fed induction generator (DFIG) in wind turbine. modeling and power flow control

2004 IEEE International Conference on Industrial Technology, 2004. IEEE ICIT '04., 2005
In this work, the doubly fed induction generator (DFIG) for wind energy conversion system is studied. First, the dq model of the wound rotor induction machine in rotor reference frame and then how it can be implemented in simulink for fast simulations.

Modeling and control of a Doubly Fed Induction Generator (DFIG) based Wind Conversion System

2009 International Conference on Power Engineering, Energy and Electrical Drives, 2009
This paper presents a general modeling and an experimental validation of a Doubly Fed Induction Generator (DFIG) based Wind Conversion System (WCS). The Wind Conversion System has been briefly presented. Then, the d q control of the Grid Side Converter (GSC) has been detailed theoretically.

Modeling and Control of Doubly Fed Induction Generators (DFIGs) For Wind Energy Applications

2006 International Conference on Industrial and Information Systems, 2006
Various literatures have been published on the application of doubly fed induction generators for wind power generation. The wind turbines and the induction machines have their own inherent characteristics and literature on how the wound rotor induction generator behaves when coupled to the wind turbine together with its control, is limited. This paper

Reduced order state observer based feedback control methodologies for doubly fed induction generator (DFIG)

2016 IEEE Industry Applications Society Annual Meeting, 2016
In this paper, a reduced order state observer for DFIG is designed that estimate the states with just using DFIG's stator voltage and power measurements. Further, the proposed state observer is used to provide two control strategies for Rotor Side Converter (RSC) of DFIG a) state estimator based state feedback control and b) state estimator based ...
