Robust fractional order sliding mode control of doubly-fed induction generator (DFIG)-based wind turbines

ISA Transactions, 2016
Wind power plants have nonlinear dynamics and contain many uncertainties such as unknown nonlinear disturbances and parameter uncertainties. Thus, it is a difficult task to design a robust reliable controller for this system. This paper proposes a novel robust fractional-order sliding mode (FOSM) controller for maximum power point tracking (MPPT ...

Optimal controller for doubly fed induction generator (DFIG) using Differential Evolutionary Algorithm (DE)

2015 International Seminar on Intelligent Technology and Its Applications (ISITIA), 2015
Variable-speed wind turbine (VST) with doubly-fed induction generator (DFIG) is one type of wind power that capable of producing electrical energy efficiently, capable of controlling real and reactive power generator, and improves the power quality. However, DFIG wind turbine has a variable-frequency AC / DC / AC converter (VFC) and IGBT switches that ...

Selection of optimal controller for active and reactive power control of doubly fed induction generator (DFIG)

2018 International Conference on Computing, Mathematics and Engineering Technologies (iCoMET), 2018
The world is facing the challenge to generate and store electrical energy in an effective manner so the concentration of wind farm is increasing day by day. All these natural resources possess stochastic behavior so the variation in output waveforms at all these nonlinear power supply units are pre-default.

Dynamic aggregation of doubly-fed induction generators (DFIGs) for stability analysis of wind power systems

2011 IEEE Power and Energy Society General Meeting, 2011
The doubly-fed induction generators (DFIGs) are widely applied in wind power conversion. The wind turbines are operated under speed control or power control, and suffered from wind disturbance or network contingency. Full expression of each DFIG involves many differential equations and lots of calculation effort.

Modelling of a doubly fed induction generator (DFIG) to study its control system

A fifth order model of a doubly fed induction generator (DFIG) is proposed with stator flux orientation (SFO) vector control. Induction generator equipped with the as-built wind turbine scheme and grid system is modelled in MATLAB/SIMULINK. Different controllable parameters are identified.

Parametrically Robust Mutual Inductance Estimation based Adaptive Control Architecture for Doubly Fed Induction Generator (DFIG)

2019 IEEE Energy Conversion Congress and Exposition (ECCE), 2019
This paper demonstrates a method for adaptive speed sensorless control of DFIG considering machine parameter variations. Proposed architecture overrides the issues related to speed and position sensors by estimating it from measured machine parameters.

Solid State Transformer (SST) interfaced Doubly Fed Induction Generator (DFIG) wind turbine

2017 Iranian Conference on Electrical Engineering (ICEE), 2017
the today energy crisis and the troubles related to the environment have resulted in a rapid development of renewable energy such as wind and solar energy. Integrating renewable energy into power grid and delivering the energy to the consumers efficiently is an excellent option for distributed energy production.

Power Flow Modeling to Doubly-Fed Induction Generators (DFIGs) Under Power Regulation

IEEE Transactions on Power Systems, 2013
With the constant kopt model under the maximum power point tracking (MPPT) strategy, wind power fluctuation from the doubly-fed induction generators (DFIGs) increases the operational risk. With given wind speed, the constant kopt model with variable slip yields impractical power output.

A PIC-Controller Based Doubly Fed Induction Generator (DFIG) for Wind Energy Conversion Systems

2011
The design details of a PIC-controller based Doubly Fed Induction Generator (DFIG) for wind power generation is described. The proposed PIC-DFIG not only provides a low cost Solution to today’s electric power needs, but is also aimed at delivering better power quality, making it ideally suited for wind energy conversion systems operating at variable ...
