Prefabricated Precision Dowels

The Journal of the American Dental Association, 1964
Prefabricated, high-fusing, precious metal precision dowels, developed by the au thors, have a diameter and taper equal to the diameter and taper of new stand ardized files and reamers. Dowel design of the shear plate dowel joint

Engineering Structures, 2020
Abstract The shear plate dowel joint (SPDJ) is a novel connection design for heavy timber structures. The connection uses a single large diameter dowel and glued-on steel plates to transfer loads between members. Consequently, the design of the dowel is of great influence for the global performance of the connection.

The effect of dowel lubrication on retention of resin-cemented dowels

The Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry, 1994
Threaded dowels were cemented into prepared canals of extracted human teeth by use of unfilled Bis-GMA resin cement. One half the dowels were lubricated before cementation, unscrewed partially, and reseated to original length after cement had set, to assure retrievability.
