Down–Up Algebras [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Algebra, 1998
The algebra generated by the down and up operators on a differential partially ordered set (poset) encodes essential enumerative and structural properties of the poset. Motivated by the algebras generated by the down and up operators on posets, we introduce here a family of infinite-dimensional associative algebras called down-up algebras. We show that

Classification of factorial generalized down-up algebras [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Algebra, 2012
We determine when a generalized down-up algebra is a Noetherian unique factorisation domain or a Noetherian unique factorisation ...

p-Brane superalgebras via integrability

open access: yesNuclear Physics B, 2018
It has long been appreciated that superalgebras with bosonic and fermionic generators additional to those in the super-Poincare algebra underlie p-brane and D-brane actions in superstring theory.

INJECTIVE MODULES OVER DOWN-UP ALGEBRAS [PDF]

open access: yesGlasgow Mathematical Journal, 2010
AbstractThe purpose of this paper is to study finiteness conditions on injective hulls of simple modules over Noetherian down-up algebras. We will show that the Noetherian down-up algebras A(α, β, γ) which are fully bounded are precisely those which are module-finite over a central subalgebra.

Noetherian down-up algebras [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the American Mathematical Society, 1999
Down-up algebras A = A ( α , β , γ ) A= A(\alpha ,\beta ,\gamma ) were introduced by G. Benkart and T. Roby to better understand the structure of certain posets. In this paper, we prove that β ≠ 0 \beta \neq 0 is equivalent to

Localized Fermions on Domain Walls and Extended Supersymmetric Quantum Mechanics [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
We study fermionic fields localized on topologically unstable domain walls bounded by strings in a grand unified theory theoretical framework. Particularly, we found that the localized fermionic degrees of freedom, which are up and down quarks as long as

Augmented down-up algebras and uniform posets

open access: yesArs Mathematica Contemporanea, 2013
Motivated by the structure of the uniform posets we introduce the notion of an augmented down-up (or ADU) algebra. We discuss how ADU algebras are related to the down-up algebras defined by Benkart and Roby. For each ADU algebra we give two presentations by generators and relations. We also display a $Z$-grading and a linear basis.

Stable rank of down-up algebras [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Algebra, 2019
We investigate the behavior of finitely generated projective modules over a down-up algebra. Specifically, we show that every noetherian down-up algebra $A( , , )$ has a non-free, stably free right ideal. Further, we compute the stable rank of these algebras using Stafford's Stable Range Theorem and Kmax dimension.
