Hydropower production can cause migration delay and fish mortality, impeding the safe and timely downstream migration of diadromous fish, such as Atlantic salmon (Salmo salar) and silver eels (Anguilla anguilla).

Ibrutinib inhibits SDF1/CXCR4 mediated migration in AML [PDF]
Pharmacological targeting of BTK using ibrutinib has recently shown encouraging clinical activity in a range of lymphoid malignancies. Recently we reported that ibrutinib inhibits human acute myeloid leukemia (AML) blast proliferation and leukemic cell ...

Migration pattern of silver eel (Anguilla anguilla, L.) in an obstructed river system. [PDF]
The downstream migration of European silver eels in the River Frémur was examined to determine the potential effects of the numerous migration barriers that exist on waterways in western France.

Bubble Measurements Downstream of Hydraulic Jumps [PDF]
A phase Doppler anemometer (PDA) system was used to measure the velocity profiles and air bubble size distributions downstream of two-dimensional hydraulic jumps for different upstream flow conditions in a 1.92m long laboratory flume.

Numerical modelling of downstream migrating antidunes [PDF]
AbstractA numerical model is presented that compute the geometrical dimensions and movement of downstream migrating antidunes. The model solves the Navier–Stokes equations together with the k‐epsilon turbulence model to find the water flow field over the bedforms. A two‐dimensional width‐averaged grid is used.

Spatial distribution of an eel population (Anguilla anguilla L.) in a small coastal catchments of northern Brittany (France). Consequences hydraulic works. [PDF]
The Frémur is a 60 km2 catchment of Brittany where many hydraulic works (dams, weirs, gauging structures, etc.) have reduced the recruitment by elvers and glass eels since at least 50 years.

Ecology of common bully (Gobiomorphus cotidianus) in the Tarawera and Rangitaiki rivers: isolation by inland distance or anthropogenic discharge? [PDF]
Previous research has identified distinct genetic, life-history and reproductive differences between populations of common bully (Gobiomorphus cotidianus) upstream and downstream of a pulp and paper mill outfall on the Tarawera River in the Bay of Plenty,

Demography of sea lamprey (Petromyzon marinus) ammocoete populations in relation to potential spawning-migration obstructions [PDF]
Copyright © 2017 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd. Recent advances in the understanding of lamprey migrations have led to concerns over the impacts of obstructions on the demography of many species. This study investigated sea lamprey (Petromyzon marinus) larvae
