Numerical modelling of downstream migrating antidunes [PDF]

open access: yesEarth Surface Processes and Landforms, 2017
AbstractA numerical model is presented that compute the geometrical dimensions and movement of downstream migrating antidunes. The model solves the Navier–Stokes equations together with the k‐epsilon turbulence model to find the water flow field over the bedforms. A two‐dimensional width‐averaged grid is used.

Studying fibroblast growth factor (FGF) mediated cell migration in "Drosophila" larval air sacs [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
Invertebrates and vertebrates use FGF signaling in many developmental processes. Mesoderm formation, limb outgrowth but also the development of the vascular system and the lung rely on FGF ligands.

The Expression and Localization of N-Myc Downstream-Regulated Gene 1 in Human Trophoblasts [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
The protein N-Myc downstream-regulated gene 1 (NDRG1) is implicated in the regulation of cell proliferation, differentiation, and cellular stress response.

FMNL2 Drives Actin-Based Protrusion and Migration Downstream of Cdc42 [PDF]

open access: yesCurrent Biology, 2012
Cell migration entails protrusion of lamellipodia, densely packed networks of actin filaments at the cell front. Filaments are generated by nucleation, likely mediated by Arp2/3 complex and its activator Scar/WAVE. It is unclear whether formins contribute to lamellipodial actin filament nucleation or serve as elongators of filaments nucleated by Arp2/3

Regulation of cell migration by dynamic microtubules [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Microtubules define the architecture and internal organization of cells by positioning organelles and activities, as well as by supporting cell shape and mechanics. One of the major functions of microtubules is the control of polarized cell motility.

open access: yesKnowledge and Management of Aquatic Ecosystems, 1999

open access: yesKnowledge and Management of Aquatic Ecosystems, 1999

On distribution of migratory fry of pink salmon in the stream of a small Sakhalin river

open access: yesИзвестия ТИНРО, 2015
Distribution of migratory fry of pink salmon Oncorhynchus gorbuscha in the stream of the Voznesenka River (south-eastern Sakhalin) is investigated and its high inhomogeneity is revealed.

Assessment of optimal dam release for anadromous fish migration in estuary

open access: yesEcological Indicators, 2023
Dams play a crucial role in meeting growing water demands, generating energy, and flood protection. However, the controlled water release from dams can significantly impact the ecosystem of downstream areas, especially estuaries.

Behaviour and passage of European silver eels (Anguilla anguilla) at a small hydropower plant during their downstream migration Comportement et passage de l’anguille argentée (Anguilla anguilla) au niveau d’une petite centrale hydroélectrique lors de sa migration de dévalaison

open access: yesKnowledge and Management of Aquatic Ecosystems, 2010
Between 2004 and 2007, 116 downstream migrant silver eels (Anguilla anguilla) were monitored at a hydropower plant on the Gave de Pau river in South-West France using radio and PIT telemetry.
