DPA: a deterministic approach to the MAP problem
IEEE Transactions on Image Processing, 1995Deterministic pseudo-annealing (DPA) is a new deterministic optimization method for finding the maximum a posteriori (MAP) labeling in a Markov random field, in which the probability of a tentative labeling is extended to a merit function on continuous labelings. This function is made convex by changing its definition domain.

Evaluation of a DPA-Resistant Prototype Chip
2009 Annual Computer Security Applications Conference, 2009The recently proposed masked logic style iMDPL seems to eradicate many of the latest points of criticism against masked logic styles in general. By means of a prototype chip containing different implementations we analyze the DPA resistance of iMDPL. Furthermore we compare the results with the logic styles' predecessor MDPL, which verifiably suffers ...

Current flattening circuit for DPA countermeasure
2010 IEEE International Symposium on Hardware-Oriented Security and Trust (HOST), 2010In cryptographic applications, power consumption variations seen off-chip are a rich source of information for intruders to obtain secret or keying materials from the system. Differential Power Analysis (DPA) technique uses statistical functions to analyze the power consumption and extracts the secret keys from the cipher systems.

Dummy Rounds as a DPA Countermeasure in Hardware
2018 21st Euromicro Conference on Digital System Design (DSD), 2018This paper describes the technique of Dummy Rounds as a countermeasure against DPA in hardware implementation of round-based ciphers. Its principle is inspired by several well-known countermeasures used in hardware as Hiding and Dynamic Reconfiguration as well as countermeasures used in software implementations as Dummy cycles, Random order execution ...

DPA Countermeasure Based on the “Masking Method”
2002We propose a new differential power analysis (DPA) countermeasure based on the "masking method" proposed by Messerges [11]. We also evaluate the security of our method by introducing a new idea of "probabilistic DPA." Its processing speed is as fast as that of the straightforward implementation, and it requires little RAM so it is suitable for low-cost
