Optimal Battery‐Based Adaptive Reconfiguration Technique for a Partially Shaded Photovoltaic Array

open access: yesEnergy Science &Engineering, Volume 14, Issue 1, Page 99-128, January 2026.
OBAR eradicates the current mismatch in two steps: OBAR implements the AR technique by activating the switching circuit 1 to minimize the current mismatch between the rows. If the current mismatch still persists, switching circuit 2 selects the battery of suitable capacity and connects across the rows and inject the required compensation current.

Sustained Structural and Functional Deficits in the Porcine Knee Six Months Following Meniscus Destabilization

open access: yesJournal of Orthopaedic Research, Volume 44, Issue 1, January 2026.
ABSTRACT Osteoarthritis (OA) of the knee is a leading cause of pain and disability. Large animal models that accurately reflect the human OA phenotype are essential for evaluating new therapeutics. This study sought to evaluate a porcine model of knee injury using an enhanced destabilization of the medial meniscus (DMM+) approach in which a 5 mm ...

“Salt Tectonics” on Titan: Radial Labyrinths as Topographic Expressions of Solid‐State Flow

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Planets, Volume 131, Issue 1, January 2026.
Abstract Surface observations of Saturn's moon Titan revealed features characterized as dissected, elevated plateaus with high valley density known as labyrinth terrains. Of this terrain class, a subtype referred to as radial labyrinth is described as dome‐shaped uplifts with radial channel patterns.

Practical Capacitor Placement Strategy for Loss Minimisation in Low‐Voltage Distribution Networks

open access: yesIET Generation, Transmission &Distribution, Volume 20, Issue 1, January/December 2026.
The paper proposes a practical capacitor placement strategy specifically for line loss reduction in rural low‐voltage distribution networks. An optimisation problem is formulated and solved under two input modes with the objective of minimising total line loss, ultimately identifying the optimal set of capacitor installation locations.
