Analysis of the Improvement of the Drawing Die in Drawing Device
Applied Mechanics and Materials, 2014Drawing devices, as an important auxiliary equipment, nowadays widely applied in areas such as mechanical installation, machinery manufacturing, machinery repair, but still have problems to fit into the workpiece of larger size and of difform shape. The article presents a new kind of drawing device with a novel drawing die, which not only well solve the

Die drawing: Solid phase drawing of polymers through a converging die
Polymer Engineering & Science, 1981AbstractDie drawing, a new process for the production of oriented thermoplastic rods with an ultrahigh modulus of elasticity, involves drawing an isotropic workpiece through a converging die at temperatures below the polymer melting point. Die drawing of polypropylene is described, but the process is applicable to any polymer which can be drawn by ...

AbstractOrientation of initially amorphous poly(ethylene terephthalate) films and sheets was carried out by means of tensile drawing in a tensile tester, roll‐drawing using a series of four rolling stations, and by die‐drawing. The drawing temperature was 80 and 90°C and drawing rate ranged from 2 to 20 cm/min in the different processes.

Tube Drawing with Tilted and Shifted Die
2015In order to reduce tubes dimensions, improve their surface finish and obtain requested mechanical properties, tube drawing is one of the most effective and flexible methods used since centuries. Many parameters influence the results obtained such as tool geometry, friction, drawing force, or the amount of thickness reduction.

Wire drawing process simulation of Polycrystalline diamond wire drawing die
2012 IEEE International Conference on Computer Science and Automation Engineering (CSAE), 2012The wire drawing process of Polycrystalline diamond (PCD) wire drawing die is simulated by ABAQUS FEA software, which is used in drawing solar wafer cutting wire. According to the requirements of structure and sizes of shaper hole in the actual production, the wire drawing die whose reduction angle is 8 degrees is used in this simulation firstly.

An investigation of rod-drawing with die-rotation
International Journal of Machine Tool Design and Research, 1970Abstract Methods of determining friction in rod-drawing are discussed, and the selection of the rotating die technique justified. A theoretical analysis is presented which shows that a reduction of drawing load should accompany die rotation, and tests were performed to verify this effect. The equipment and instrumentation used are described.

Drawing of polymers through a conical die
Polymer, 1979Abstract A new process is described in which ultra-oriented polymers are produced by drawing a billet of initially isotropic polymer through a converging die. The process, called die-drawing, has been used to make oriented polypropylene rods with room temperature Young's moduli up to 20.6 GPa. The considerable advantages of this process compared with

Analysis and modelling of the die drawing of polymers
Journal of Materials Science, 1992An analysis of the mechanics of the die-drawing process for polymer orientation has been undertaken on the basis of the lower bound theory by Hoffman and Sachs for metals, with several important modifications. First it is accepted that the flow stress in polymers is strongly dependent on plastic strain, strain rate and temperature.

High stiffness polymers by die‐drawing
Polymer Engineering & Science, 1980AbstractThe application of die‐drawing to the production of highly oriented polymers is considered, ft is shown that a variety of useful products can be obtained including not only rod and multifilament, but also tube and filled polymer. The investigations under discussion include the processing of several grades of linear polyethylene, polypropylene ...
