This paper deals with experimental investigations in order to study the influence of drawing conditions on temperature rise and drawing stress in cold drawn copper wires. In the multipass drawing machine, the temperature rise and drawing stress are measured with thermocouples and load cell systems, respectively, for different drawing speeds.

High-speed drawing of optical fibers with pressurized coating
Journal of Lightwave Technology, 1985To make progress in high-speed drawing of optical fibers, a pressurized coating method was developed on the basis of viscous flow behavior of the coating resin. In a pressurized die, when the shear rate at the fiber surface is minimized, the pressure which is affected by the resin viscosity reaches on optimum condition, resulting in the coating ...

Prevention of Partial Draw-In During High Speed Deep Drawing
Key Engineering Materials, 2009Due to an ongoing trend of function compaction miniaturization gets more and more important in industrial production. Through the growing miniaturization new difficulties have overcome like scaling effects. However, on the other hand scaling towards smaller parts enables the application of new technologies which do not work in macro engineering.
