Bioabsorbable Poly(vinyl alcohol)–Citric Acid Dressings: Wound Healing Studies in an Experimental In Vivo Model

open access: yesEuropean Burn Journal
Background: The wound healing process presents notable challenges for nursing teams, requiring extensive knowledge of wound care materials. A nanoparticle-free, bioabsorbable pol-yvinyl alcohol (PVA) with citric acid (CA) dressing produced by simple ...

Renormalization flow of Yang-Mills propagators

open access: yes, 2004
We study Landau-gauge Yang-Mills theory by means of a nonperturbative vertex expansion of the quantum effective action. Using an exact renormalization group equation, we compute the fully dressed gluon and ghost propagators to lowest nontrivial order in ...

Dressing, coating, cross-dressing

open access: yesARQ, 2022
If deconstruction implies a critique of the dual structures of thought, the destabilization of binaries proposed by queer theory would be the deconstructive exercise par excellence. In this case, the original pair is not destroyed; instead, their relationship is dismantled to expand its possibilities and make them more complex.

Cascade‐Responsive MXene@Cu‐MOF Heterostructure Integrates Antioxidant Activity, Infection Control, and Vascularization for Tracheal Repair

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A cascade‐responsive MXene@Cu‐MOF/GelMA hydrogel is engineered as a “skeleton–backpack” platform for extensive tracheal repair. The MXene framework scavenges postoperative ROS and converts NIR light into mild hyperthermia, while the Cu‐MOF component provides pH/NIR‐responsive Cu2+ dosing for infection control, angiogenesis, and chondrogenesis.

Potent antimicrobial activity of hydrogel loaded with the antimicrobial peptide, D-Bac8c2,5 Leu, against monospecies and polymicrobial biofilms of Staphylococcus aureus and Pseudomonas aeruginosa

open access: yesFrontiers in Microbiology
IntroductionAcute and chronic wound infections involving biofilms and caused by antimicrobial resistant (AMR) pathogens present significant challenges in healthcare, leading to substantial patient morbidity, increased hospital stays, and rising ...

In vitro evaluation of immunogenic properties of active dressings

open access: yesCurrent Issues in Pharmacy and Medical Sciences, 2014
The aim of this study was in vitro evaluation of the level of the immune response in relation to wound dressings composed of alginate, calcium carboxymethylcellulose, and dibutyrylochitin and determination of the direction of response, which will make ...

An audit to determine the clinical effectiveness of a pathway for managing wound infection [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Prevention of wound infection is a key objective in the planning of care for patients with wounds. The potential for wound infection, particularly in chronic wounds that are heavily contaminated with bacteria, can be high (Bowler et al, 2001).

Dressing Dance–Dancing Dress [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
In a climate of significant developments in costume in the broader field of performance and scenography I question why dress in contemporary dance is often employed as a purely functional or aesthetic overlay to the movement itself. This chapter extends an analysis of the role, agency and bodily experience of dress in the creative and collaborative ...

Bifunctional Artificial Enzymes‐Loaded Microgels With LOX‐ and CAT‐Like Activities for Metabolic Reprogramming and Scarless Wound Repair

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A bifunctional lactate oxidase‐like and catalase‐like artificial enzyme (Metazyme) is integrated into a rod‐shaped microgel (MetaRgel) to enable cascade lactate oxidation and oxygen regeneration. By reprogramming the wound metabolic microenvironment, MetaRgel alleviates excessive lactate accumulation, oxidative stress, hypoxia, and inflammation ...
