A novel test using dried blood spots for the chromatographic assay of methadone

Analytical and Bioanalytical Chemistry, 2012
A novel test has been developed for the analysis of methadone in dried blood spot specimens from patients undergoing methadone maintenance treatment. An isocratic reversed-phase high-performance liquid chromatography method with coulometric detection has been optimized for the determination of methadone.

Dried Blood Spots and Miniaturized Ultrasonic Nebulization Microplasma Optical Emission Spectrometry for Point-of-Care Testing of Blood Lithium.

Analytical Chemistry
Despite the significant importance of blood lithium (Li) detection in the treatment of bipolar disorder (BD), its point-of-care testing (POCT) remains a great challenge due to tedious sample preparation and the use of large-footprint atomic spectrometers.

Performance assessment of neonatal dried blood spot testing for HIV antibody.

Communicable disease report. CDR review, 1993
A study was undertaken to assess the performance of laboratories participating in the UK unlinked anonymised neonatal screening programme for the detection of HIV antibody. A coded panel of 100 contrived dried blood spots prepared form well characterised anti-HIV-1 and anti-HIV-2 positive sera and an anti-HIV negative serum was distributed to eight ...

Dried blood spot testing: an innovative approach to overcome cannabinoid instability in blood

2012
Cannabis is the most widely used illicit drug around the world and among the drugs of abuse (DoA) most frequently involved in street accidents. Therefore, it is important to strictly monitor Cannabis abuse. Until now, the most reliable biological matrix for this purpose is represented by blood (whole blood/plasma), which can provide useful information ...

[The use of dried blood spots for HIV-antibody testing in Sahel].

Bulletin de la Societe de pathologie exotique (1990), 2006
Undertaking a HIV seroepidemiological survey in Sahel is logistically problematic, since countries like Niger or Mali are very large with scattered populations and harsh climatic conditions. Therefore, the replacement of serum samples by whole blood dried on filter papers has been studied for HIV-antibody testing with commercial kits that are commonly ...
