Forecasting the Dialysis Burden in Japan: Validation‐Based Projections of Prevalence and Incidence Through 2050

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Japan has one of the highest dialysis prevalence rates worldwide and a shrinking, aging population. Whether dialysis burden has entered a sustained post‐peak phase or whether recent declines partly reflect pandemic‐related disruptions remains uncertain.

Stationary distributions for diffusions with inert drift [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Consider reflecting Brownian motion in a bounded domain in $${\mathbb R^d}$$ that acquires drift in proportion to the amount of local time spent on the boundary of the domain.

Understanding and mitigating process drift in aerosol jet printing

open access: yesFlexible and Printed Electronics, 2020
Abstract Aerosol jet printing offers a versatile, high-resolution prototyping capability for flexible and hybrid electronics. Despite its rapid growth in recent years, persistent problems such as process drift hinder the adoption of this technology in production environments.

OpenSense: An open-source toolbox for inertial-measurement-unit-based measurement of lower extremity kinematics over long durations

open access: yesJournal of NeuroEngineering and Rehabilitation, 2022
Background The ability to measure joint kinematics in natural environments over long durations using inertial measurement units (IMUs) could enable at-home monitoring and personalized treatment of neurological and musculoskeletal disorders.

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

Study Regarding Methods and Techniques Used for Analysis of Spray Drift and Droplet Size Distribution by Agricultural Spraying Machines

open access: yesBulletin of University of Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine Cluj-Napoca: Agriculture
The main purpose of this paper is to analyze the methods and techniques used for analysis of spray drift and droplet size distribution by agricultural spraying machines. According to related standards and accepted definitions spray drift is the volume of

Diversity and complexity in neural organoids

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Neural organoid research aims to expand genetic diversity on one side and increase tissue complexity on the other. Chimeroids integrate multiple donor genomes within single organoids. Self‐organising multi‐identity organoids, exogenous cell seeding, or enforced assembly of region‐specific organoids contribute to tissue complexity.

Spray drift in arboriculture: A dataset to analyse the influence of spray application techniques, anti-drift nets, and their combinations on the reduction of sedimentary drift, aerial drift and exposure of bystandersRecherche Date Gouv

open access: yesData in Brief
In 2021 and 2022, the national and cross-sector project CAPRIV funded by the French Agriculture Ministry, made it possible assess the influence of application techniques associated or not with a hedge, or an anti-drift net on spray drift and bystander ...

Degradation mechanism of the von Willebrand factor A2 domain by nattokinase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Nattokinase, a natto‐derived protease, exhibits potent antithrombotic effects. This study demonstrates that nattokinase directly cleaves the von Willebrand factor (vWF) A2 domain in vitro. Unlike the native regulator ADAMTS13, nattokinase degrades folded vWF independently of shear stress.
