Effect of the Distribution System on Drinking Water Quality
The overall objective of this paper is to characterise the main aspects of water quality deterioration in a distribution system. The effect of residence time on chlorine uptake and the formation and evolution of disinfection by-products in distributed drinking water are discussed.

Integrating experimental insights with molecular dynamics simulations, we establish an advanced mathematical model for fluids confined in sub‐10‐nm channels, enabling quantitative prediction of interfacial layer thickness and viscosity by accounting for channel material, temperature, and fluid properties.

Biosynthesis of Sciadonic Acid Derived from Gymnosperms with Anti‐Colitis Activity
This study establishes an efficient Yarrowia lipolytica platform for unusual sciadonic acid (SCA) production and assess the anti‐colitis efficacy in mice of SCA, supporting its potential as a novel therapeutic lipid. ABSTRACT Sciadonic acid (SCA), Δ5‐unsaturated fatty acid with anti‐inflammatory and lipid‐regulatory properties, is predominantly derived

An atomically dispersed Co–N4 single‐atom catalyst rapidly activates peroxymonosulfate to remove the antibiotic sulfamethoxazole from water. Common ions have little impact, but chloride dramatically speeds degradation by promoting a high‐valent Co(IV) = O oxidant via in situ HOCl–catalyst electron transfer.

Legionella control in water systems using copper and silver ion generation systems [PDF]
Legionella can cause human disease which can be fatal. Routine monitoring for Legionella in water systems is not recommended by UK authorities. Evidence of the efficacy of control modalities against Legionella in these water systems is, therefore, not

Drinking water and biofilm disinfection by Fenton-like reaction
International audienceA Fenton-like disinfection process was conducted with Fenton's reagent (H2O2) at pH 3 or 5 on autochthonous drinking water biofilms grown on corroded or non-corroded pipe material.

Palatable food alleviates stress and prevents anxiety. This study uncovers a dedicated neural pathway: dopamine release in the PFC activates D1R neurons, whose projections to the peri‐PVN engage a population of anxiolytic CRFR1 neurons. These neurons then inhibit stress‐induced hyperactivity of PVNCRF neurons, providing a circuit‐level explanation for ...
