The Milankovitch theory advocates that the glacial cycles have three components: the tilt of the earth's spin axis; the shape of the earth's orbit; and the interaction between the tilt and the eccentricity effects. These three factors work together to vary the amount of sunshine reaching the high northern latitudes in summer and allow the great ice ...

MEIOTIC DRIVE AND SEX CHROMOSOME CYCLING
Evolution, 2004Sex-linked meiotic drive is found in a broad variety of taxa, including insects, birds, and mammals. In populations of some species, we see four types of sex chromosomes segregating: normal and driving X chromosomes and susceptible and resistant Y chromosomes.

Drive cycle development for tricycles
Clean Technologies and Environmental Policy, 2006The absence of protocols through which an alternative technology for two stroke tricycles could be evaluated makes it difficult to compare these technologies and determine the best alternative. This study demonstrates the process of the development of a dynamometer test cycle that would be reflective of the actual driving conditions in Metro Manila ...

Development of Driving Cycles for Galle
2018 Moratuwa Engineering Research Conference (MERCon), 2018Driving cycle construction has become more popular around the world to estimate pollution emission and traffic analysis. This paper presents the traffic based analysis related to performance of B128 and B130 route in Galle, Sri Lanka using basic traffic engineering parameters such as travel time, average and maximum speed, average acceleration and ...

A Framework for Developing Driving Cycles with On‐Road Driving Data
Transport Reviews, 2010Abstract This paper attempts to propose a framework on driving cycle development based on a thorough review of 101 transient driving cycles. A comparison of the driving cycles highlighted that Asian driving is the slowest but most aggressive while European driving is the fastest and smoothest.

On Vehicle Driving Cycle Simulation
SAE Technical Paper Series, 1995
In order to estimate vehicle energy consumption and emissions, it is common to carry out a driving cycle simulation. In a conventional analysis for this purpose, the vehicle speed is prescribed to follow a function of time exactly.

This chapter summarizes the most important features of the driving/engine cycles test procedure in the laboratory. A brief discussion of the type approval process is first conducted, followed by dynamometer fundamentals, analysis of the road-load equation and description of the coast-down procedure.
