Mechanisms driving acentric chromosome transmission

Chromosome Research, 2020
The kinetochore-microtubule association is a core, conserved event that drives chromosome transmission during mitosis. Failure to establish this association on even a single chromosome results in aneuploidy leading to cell death or the development of cancer.

Mechanics of the belt drive

International Journal of Mechanical Sciences, 1970
Abstract The mechanics of the belt drive is considered when the belt possesses a soft pliable envelope to grip the pulley and strong tension members to transmit the power. It is concluded that shear strains in the belt envelope are a large factor in determining drive behaviour.

Study on the omnidirectional driving gear mechanism

2012 IEEE International Conference on Robotics and Automation, 2012
In this paper, the principles and the actual configurations of the omnidirectional driving gear mechanism that was implemented by the authors were described. The validity of the proposed structure was also confirmed and its basic characteristics understood through experiments using the actual prototypes.

Drive Mechanism and Controls

2020
Tapchangers are driven in normal operation by a drive mechanism. The mechanism may be integrally built as a part of the tapchanger or may be a separate physical entity. In the case of many compartment type tapchangers, the mechanism is built in. This is not a functional necessity.

Dynamics of a Mechanical Drive

1985
The equations derived in Chap. 1 $$J\frac{{d\omega }}{{dt}} = {{m}_{M}}\left( {\omega ,{\mkern 1mu} {\mkern 1mu} \varepsilon ,{\mkern 1mu} {\mkern 1mu} {{y}_{M}},{\mkern 1mu} {\mkern 1mu} t} \right) - {{m}_{L}}\left( {\omega ,{\mkern 1mu} {\mkern 1mu} \varepsilon ,{\mkern 1mu} {\mkern 1mu} {{y}_{L}},{\mkern 1mu} {\mkern 1mu} t} \right)$$ (2.1)

Mechanisms and Mediators That Drive Arthritis Pain

Current Osteoporosis Reports, 2015
There are over 100 different types of arthritis and each can differ greatly in their aetiology and pathophysiology; however, one characteristic that is common to all arthritic conditions is joint pain. Musculoskeletal pain is the leading cause of disability in the world, and the number one reason arthritis patients visit their primary care physician ...

Numerical Simulations of Spicule Driving Mechanisms

Space Science Reviews, 1994
Spicules are known as one of the most prevalent small-scale dynamic phenomena on the sun, which are likely to give considerable contribution to coronal heating and mass supply. We discuss a model of the spicules driven by a train of slow MHD shock waves propagating along a vertical expanding magnetic flux tube.
