Terahertz waveform considerations for nonlinearly driving lattice vibrations
Journal of Applied Physics, 2019High-field terahertz (THz) spectroscopy is applied to nonlinearly excite the E phonon-polariton vibrational coordinate in LiNbO3. We compare three THz sources to show that by optimizing the THz waveform, we can drive the atomic motion to large amplitudes and observe nonlinear effects.

Generating versatile waveforms using single dual-drive modulator
2013 15th International Conference on Transparent Optical Networks (ICTON), 2013We demonstrate a novel scheme using a single dual-drive Mach-Zehnder modulator to generate versatile waveforms from a continuous light with a sinusoidal RF signal. A comprehensive mathematic model is derived and the algorithm to decide the variables for generating various waveforms is developed.

Driving waveforms of partial writing scheme for FLCD
Displays, 1993Abstract The authors have developed driving waveforms for a new partial writing scheme. In the new partial writing scheme, the selected pixel which will change its image is rewritten, but the selected pixel which will not change its image is not. However, the driving waveform applied to the selected pixel which will not change its image must give the

Design and development of driving waveforms for AC PDPs
Conference Record of the 2002 IEEE Industry Applications Conference. 37th IAS Annual Meeting (Cat. No.02CH37344), 2003This paper presents design and development of driving waveforms to improve efficacy, contrast and resolution for AC plasma display panels (PDPs). In the paper, the conventional driving waveforms are first reviewed, and the proposed driving waveforms are then discussed.

Driving waveforms for class-F power amplifiers [GaAs MESFETs]
2000 IEEE MTT-S International Microwave Symposium Digest (Cat. No.00CH37017), 2002High efficiency of power amplifiers can be reached if the active device output current and voltage have the maximally flat waveforms. The existing conventional conditions to provide such waveforms are not sufficient. The additional conditions were obtained in this paper.

Programmed driving waveforms for quick-response liquid powder displays
IEEE Transactions on Consumer Electronics, 2010A low optical contrast ratio is the major drawback of quick-response liquid powder displays (QRLPDs). In this paper, the electro-optical response of the QRLPD is analyzed, and better optical contrast is found to be obtained if the display is driven by pulse number modulation (PNM). However, PNM driving requires a longer driving duration.

Quality assessment of electrical drives with strongly deformed supply waveform
Measurement, 2001In the characterization of electrical drives it is necessary to carry out power measurement on highly distorted signals with low uncertainty and in some cases on-line; this involves the adoption of suitable test station and adequate measurement techniques.

Bipolar Pulse-Drive Electronics for a Josephson Arbitrary Waveform Synthesizer
IEEE Transactions on Instrumentation and Measurement, 2008A Josephson arbitrary waveform synthesizer (JAWS) has been developed in order to generate quantum-based ac voltage signals. The key component of this JAWS is a modified commercial 30-Gb/s pattern generator that can generate ternary patterns (containing the values 1, 0, and 1, resulting in bipolar pulses).

The improvement of the driving waveform for high-speed addressing
Displays, 2008Abstract A high-speed driving technology is currently one of the most observed technologies in the driving AC-PDP. This is a required technology that allows a high image quality. In this paper, we will propose the new driving waveform which has varied V scan voltage in the same sub-field for the high-speed driving. Therefore, we were obtained 39.5
