Acoustic‐driven surface cleaning with millimeter‐sized bubbles at translational resonance

open access: yesDroplet, EarlyView.
Time‐lapse visualization comparing bubble trajectories. The top panel (0 Hz) shows a bubble's linear path under no acoustic forcing, while the bottom panel (50 Hz) demonstrates the oscillatory motion induced by acoustic waves at a resonance mode. This mechanism holds promising potential for applications such as surface cleaning.

Review and prospects of shear test of bolted rock joints

open access: yesDeep Underground Science and Engineering, EarlyView.
The laboratory shear test equipment, test method, and numerical simulation of bolted rock joints were summarized. The shortcomings and limitations of the current research were analyzed, and the research prospects were proposed. Abstract Rock bolting is a critical approach in geotechnical engineering for supporting weak rocks.

The damage and failure mechanism of prestatically loaded rock during medium‐strain rate cyclic impact loading

open access: yesDeep Underground Science and Engineering, EarlyView.
Based on experimental results and theoretical analysis, an established rock damage accumulation model that comprehensively considers the preapplied static load, impact peak value, impact frequency, and impact times. Abstract To study the rock damage mechanism under high static loading and superimposed medium strain rate cyclic impact loading, a series ...

Threshold behavior of bosonic two-dimensional few-body systems

open access: yes, 2005
Bosonic two-dimensional self-bound clusters consisting of $N$ atoms interacting through additive van der Waals potentials become unbound at a critical mass m*(N); m*(N) has been predicted to be independent of the size of the system.

Performance Prediction of Battery Pack Throughout the Entire Lifecycle Using Monte Carlo Algorithm and Joint Simulation of Multiple Physical Fields

open access: yesEnergy Science &Engineering, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This article is based on the storage test of individual batteries. We combined the data analysis with the deductive simulation to predict the health status of the entire battery pack. Besides, we combined the storage process and discharge process of the battery pack based on the single‐cell storage test.

Magnetothermodynamics: Measurements Of The Thermodynamic Properties In A Relaxed Magnetohydrodynamic Plasma [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
We have explored the thermodynamics of compressed magnetized plasmas in laboratory experiments and we call these studies ‘magnetothermodynamics’. The experiments are carried out in the Swarthmore Spheromak eXperiment device.

Intramolecular C–H Nitrene Insertion Catalyzed by Single‐Atom Cobalt on Nitrogen‐Doped Carbon

open access: yesHelvetica Chimica Acta, EarlyView.
A cobalt single‐atom catalyst was applied to intramolecular C(sp3)–H nitrene insertion to synthesize benzosultams. The catalyst was reused for 17 times with cumulative turnover number 340. ABSTRACT Single‐atom catalysts (SACs) are advancing heterogeneous organic synthesis by combining the molecular precision of homogeneous complexes with the ...
