A Maximum Entropy Modelling of the Rain Drop Size Distribution [PDF]
This paper presents a maximum entropy approach to Rain Drop Size Distribution (RDSD) modelling. It is shown that this approach allows (1) to use a physically consistent rationale to select a particular probability density function (pdf) (2) to provide an

Prediction of drop size distribution and mean drop size in an L-shaped pulsed packed column using artificial neural network (ANN) model and semi-empirical correlation [PDF]
This study proposes the use of artificial neural network (ANN) and semi-empirical models for predicting mean drop size and drop size distribution in an L-shaped pulsed packed extraction column under non-mass-transfer conditions, employing toluene-water ...

Parametrization of drop size distribution with rain rate [PDF]
Abstract Because the rain rate R is easier to observe than the drop size distribution (DSD), it is useful to express the DSD as a function of R only, i.e. N(D,R). Disdrometer data from four sites in West Africa are used to compare observed DSDs with fitting to a lognormal function in which the three parameters Xi, with i = 1, 2, 3, are expressed as ...

ROTARY ATOMIZER DROP SIZE DISTRIBUTION DATABASE [PDF]
Wind tunnel measurements of drop Size distributions from Micronair A U4000 and A U5000 rotary atomizers were collected to develop a database for model use. The measurements varied tank mix, flow rate, air speed, and blade angle conditions, which were correlated by multiple regressions (average R-2 = 0.995 for A U4000 and 0.988 for AU5000).
