KNEE DROPPING TEST

Journal of the American Medical Association, 1953
A middle-aged man had marked symptoms and signs of an expansive lesion in the left side of the brain. The severity of the affection warranted the assumption that pyramidal signs, i. e., signs of an upper motor neuron lesion, must be present on both right extremities. But such signs, though mild, were present only on the right upper extremity.

Drop the Alzheimer's drop test

Neurology, 1998
Ever since the initial report by Scinto1 describing the use of 0.01% tropicamide as a clinical test for the early detection of Alzheimer's disease, I and my mentors (Drs. Irene Loewenfeld and H. Stanley Thompson) have been reluctant, without data of our own, to declare an opinion. According to our view then (and now), time would be the most fair judge.

Rotating-liquid-drop model limit tested on macroscopic drops

Physical Review E, 1993
The collisions of m=0.3--2.0 g, v=5--50 cm/s mercury drops are studied experimentally. A transition between a fusion and a nonfusion outcome is observed, and found to be influenced by angular momentum. The mass dependence measured for the limiting angular momentum ${\mathit{L}}_{\mathit{c}}$(expt) is compared with predictions ${\mathit{L}}_{\mathit{c}}$

Discrete Element Modeling of Drop Tests

Rock Mechanics and Rock Engineering, 2012
A discrete element code with impact model has been developed and calibrated to simulate the dynamic behavior of rock materials, with special regard to rock fragmentation upon impact during rock-fall analysis. The paper summarizes the discrete element code, the calibration algorithms developed to identify the model microparameters, and the impact model.

NOL Drop Test

1962
Abstract : A modification of the Naval Weapons Laboratory, Dahlgren, Va. 1219 cm (40 ft) drop test and the Naval Ordnance Test Station, China Lake 305 cm (10 ft) drop test is set up and has been evaluated at the Naval Ordnance Laboratory, White Oak. The purpose is to find a way of accepting new explosives for fleet use without the necessity of making ...

A TEST FOR THE BACTERICIDAL ACTIVITY OF EYE-DROPS

The Lancet, 1967
Abstract The bactericidal efficacy of eye-drops in which sterility has been preserved by adding chlorbutol, benzalkonium chloride, or mercurial or combined preservatives or drops with no stated preservative can be checked by a simple test in which viable cells of Pseudomonas aeruginosa are added.

Drop Leg Lachman Test

The American Journal of Sports Medicine, 1995
We describe a new method of evaluating anterior cru ciate stability that we call the drop leg Lachman test. This test is performed with the patient supine and the leg to be examined abducted off the side of the table and flexed 25°. The thigh is stabilized to the examining table with one of the examiner's hands, and the patient's foot is held between ...

Heel-Drop Jarring Test for Appendicitis

Archives of Surgery, 1985
To the Editor.—The heel-drop jarring test for appendicitis and other intraperitoneal inflammation, also known as the Markle test, was published in 1973 and, as a simple bedside test, was shown to be superior to the better-known rebound test.1A recent review of a series of 190 appendectomies confirmed this advantage and in addition, the test was found ...
