The subject is brake orbits for the 3-body problem: orbits where all velocities are zero at some instant. We extract a paradox and a mystery out of a recent database of 30 non-collision periodic brake orbits for the equal mass 3-body problem built up by Li and Liao. We solve the paradox and the mystery and pose an open question.

Droplet dynamics on slippery surfaces: small droplet, big impact
The dynamic interaction of droplets with slippery surfaces is essential to various industrial applications, such as anti-icing, water-repellency or water-harvesting, anti-bacterial, and phase change heat transfer.

Local Nucleation of Microtubule Bundles through Tubulin Concentration into a Condensed Tau Phase
Non-centrosomal microtubule bundles play important roles in cellular organization and function. Although many diverse proteins are known that can bundle microtubules, biochemical mechanisms by which cells could locally control the nucleation and ...

Rigid superhydrophobic materials have the ability to repel millimetric water drops, in typically 10 ms. Yet, most natural water-repellent materials can be deformed by impacting drops. To test the effect of deformability, we perform impacts of non-wetting drops onto thin ($\sim$ 10 \micro m), circular PDMS membranes.

Pair-collision between viscous drops in a confined shear is numerically simulated to show that the confinement drastically alters the trajectories of the drops. In contrast to free shear, drops here move towards the centerline giving rise to a zero cross-

Electrohydrodynamics of Drops and Vesicles
The 1969 review by J.R. Melcher and G.I. Taylor defined the field of electrohydrodynamics. Fifty years on, the interaction of weakly conducting (leaky dielectric) fluids with electric fields continues to yield intriguing phenomena.

Numerical simulation of spreading drops [PDF]
We consider a liquid drop that spreads on a wettable surface. Different time evolutions have been observed for the base radius r depending of the relative role played by inertia, viscosity, surface tension and the wetting condition. Numerical simulations
