Proteomics Reveals Novel Drosophila Seminal Fluid Proteins Transferred at Mating
Across diverse taxa, seminal fluid proteins (Sfps) transferred at mating affect the reproductive success of both sexes. Such reproductive proteins often evolve under positive selection between species; because of this rapid divergence, Sfps are ...

In the context of chronic hyperglycemia, a DDR is initiated, leading to the pathological activation of DNA‐PKcs in the diabetic heart. This activated DNA‐PKcs directly interacts with and phosphorylates YAP1 at Thr226, thereby increasing the nuclear expression of YAP1.

The Roles of the LIM Domain Proteins in Drosophila Cardiac and Hematopoietic Morphogenesis
Drosophila melanogaster has been used as a model organism for study on development and pathophysiology of the heart. LIM domain proteins act as adaptors or scaffolds to promote the assembly of multimeric protein complexes. We found a total of 75 proteins

The selectivity and specificity of autophagy in drosophila [PDF]
Autophagy is a process of cellular self-degradation and is a major pathway for elimination of cytoplasmic material by the lysosomes. Autophagy is responsible for the degradation of damaged organelles and protein aggregates and therefore plays a ...

A Drosophila fragile X protein interacts with components of RNAi and ribosomal proteins.
Fragile X syndrome is a common form of inherited mental retardation caused by the loss of FMR1 expression. The FMR1 gene encodes an RNA-binding protein that associates with translating ribosomes and acts as a negative translational regulator.

Genetics‐Based Targeting Strategies for Precise Neuromodulation
In this Review, the fundamental principles and implementation protocols of genetics‐based precision neuromodulation are first introduced. Then, wireless and low‐invasive strategies based on nano‐transducing materials are highlighted, along with a dissection and analysis of the strengths and weaknesses of representative studies.

A mighty small heart: the cardiac proteome of adult Drosophila melanogaster.
Drosophila melanogaster is emerging as a powerful model system for the study of cardiac disease. Establishing peptide and protein maps of the Drosophila heart is central to implementation of protein network studies that will allow us to assess the ...

piRNAs and Aubergine cooperate with Wispy poly(A) polymerase to stabilize mRNAs in the germ plasm [PDF]
Piwi-interacting RNAs (piRNAs) and PIWI proteins play a crucial role in germ cells by repressing transposable elements and regulating gene expression. In Drosophila, maternal piRNAs are loaded into the embryo mostly bound to the PIWI protein Aubergine ...

An integral functional axis through which GPN and functional metabolites of Alistipes senegalensis can hydrolyze tryptophan into indoles. Furthermore, the Alistipes senegalensis‐indole‐AhR pathway is found to be associated with increased expression of tight junction‐associated proteins and activation of gut stem cells.
