Network meta-analysis of balloon angioplasty, nondrug metal stent, drug-eluting balloon, and drug-eluting stent for treatment of infrapopliteal artery occlusive disease

open access: yesDiagnostic and Interventional Radiology, 2016
PURPOSE:We aimed to conduct a network meta-analysis of mixed treatments for the infrapopliteal artery occlusive disease.METHODS:We searched randomized controlled trials (RCTs) regarding balloon angioplasty (BA), nondrug metal stent (NDMS), drug-eluting ...

From Thrombolysis to Transplant: Navigating the Storm of Delayed STEMI and Cardiogenic Shock

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 3, March 2026.
ABSTRACT Delayed STEMI presentation can cause extensive myocardial necrosis, left ventricular thrombus, cardiogenic shock, and progression to end‐stage heart failure despite reperfusion. Early recognition and timely transfer to specialized shock centers are critical.

Comparison of drug-eluting balloon versus drug-eluting stent for treatment of coronary artery disease: a meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials

open access: yesBMC Cardiovascular Disorders, 2018
Background Drug-eluting balloons (DEB) have significant value for treating coronary artery disease (CAD). However, the merits of using DEB versus drug-eluting stents (DES) to treat CAD remain controversial. Herein, we conducted a meta-analysis to compare

Restenosis treatments using nanoparticle-based drug delivery systems [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Restenosis, the re-narrowing of a blood vessel after removal of atherosclerotic plaque, is a major limitation of surgical treatments for atherosclerosis. Various attempts to prevent or treat restenosis by pharmacological or mechanical approaches have had

Occlusion and Vascular Malformation Solved by a Novel Recanalization Management in a Hemodialysis Patient: A Case Report

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 3, March 2026.
ABSTRACT Our case report demonstrates that combined with percutaneous transluminal angioplasty and extraluminal recanalization, better blood flow was regained and the new vascular access was able to support regular hemodialysis. This may be another better choice for vascular access malformation for hemodialysis patients.

Initial experience with everolimus-eluting bioresorbable vascular scaffolds for treatment of patients presenting with acute myocardial infarction [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Aims: Limited data are currently available on midterm outcomes after implantation of everolimus-eluting bioresorbable vascular scaffolds (BVS) for treatment of acute ST-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI).

Selenium‐Containing Tea‐Derived Peptides Activate Alcohol Dehydrogenase and Ameliorate Alcohol‐Induced Liver Injury by Modulating Oxidative Stress Homeostasis

open access: yesFood Frontiers, Volume 7, Issue 2, March 2026.
The graphical abstract summarizes the experimental workflow: (1) Preparation of selenium‐containing tea‐derived peptides (TSE‐PP) guided by ADH activation; (2) Purification and LC‐MS/MS identification of selenium‐modified peptides; (3) Molecular docking to reveal peptide‐ADH interactions; (4) Evaluation of hangover‐alleviating and hepatoprotective ...

3D-printed, citrate-based bioresorbable vascular scaffolds for coronary artery angioplasty

open access: yesBioactive Materials
Fully bioresorbable vascular scaffolds (BVSs) aim to overcome the limitations of metallic drug-eluting stents (DESs). However, polymer-based BVSs, such as Abbott's Absorb, the only US FDA-approved BVS, have had limited use due to increased strut ...

Protective Effect of Protaetia brevitarsis Larvae Extract on Alcoholic Liver Disease in Mice

open access: yesFood Science &Nutrition, Volume 14, Issue 3, March 2026.
This study evaluated the hepatoprotective effects of Protaetia brevitarsis larvae water extract (PBLE) in a chronic‐plus‐binge ethanol mouse model. PBLE attenuated hepatic lipid accumulation and liver injury by modulating alcohol metabolism‐related enzymes and reducing oxidative stress and inflammation.
