Home‐based collaborative management of bullous pemphigoid with delayed seropositive conversion of anti‐BP180‐NC16a antibody

open access: yesJournal of General and Family Medicine, EarlyView.
We present the case of an elderly male with bullous pemphigoid, initially negative for the anti‐BP180‐NC16a antibody, which later became positive as disease activity progressed. The patient was successfully managed at home through multidisciplinary collaboration, including a general practitioner, dermatologist, nurses, and pharmacists.

About the Mechanism of Volcanic Eruptions [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2012
A new approach to the volcanic eruption theory is proposed. It is based on a simple physical mechanism of the imbalance in the system "magma-crust-fluid". This mechanism helps to explain from unified positions the different types of volcanic eruptions. A criterion of imbalance and magma eruption is derived.

Magnetic Resonance Imaging for Dental Pulp Assessment: A Comprehensive Review

open access: yesJournal of Magnetic Resonance Imaging, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) has recently emerged as a promising modality for dental applications, offering radiation‐free imaging with superior soft tissue visualization capabilities compared to x‐ray‐based techniques such as spiral or cone beam computed tomography (CBCT).

On the origin of Mount Etna eruptive cycles and Stromboli volcano paroxysms: implications for an alternative mechanism of volcanic eruption [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2014
New mechanism of imbalance between magma column and fluid volume, accumulated in the magmatic system, is considered as a driving force of the volcanic eruption. Conditions of eruption based on this mechanism are used to explain main features of the volcanic activity (eruptive cycles and paroxysms) of the volcanoes Etna and Stromboli (Italy).

Drug Reaction with eosinophilia and systemic symptoms with alopecia universalis and vitiligo

open access: yesMedicina, 2021
Drug reactions with eosinophilia and systemic symptoms (DRESS) are rare and potentially fatal adverse hypersensitivity reaction to some drugs, especially anticonvulsants. The syndrome affects not only the skin but also other organs, especially the liver.

Skin Diseases in Long‐Distance Runners

open access: yesJEADV Clinical Practice, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Long‐distance running, including both road running and trail/mountain running, has significantly increased in popularity in recent years. The prolonged, repetitive physical activity combined with environmental exposures predisposes runners to a range of dermatological problems.

Drug-drug interaction prediction based on co-medication patterns and graph matching [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2019
Background: The problem of predicting whether a drug combination of arbitrary orders is likely to induce adverse drug reactions is considered in this manuscript. Methods: Novel kernels over drug combinations of arbitrary orders are developed within support vector machines for the prediction.

Pityriasis rosea-like Drug Eruption Induced by Imatinib Mesylate (Gleevec™) [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Imatinib mesylate (Gleevec™, STI571), a selective inhibitor of BCR-ABL, c-Kit, and platelet-derived factor receptor, has been used to treat chronic myelogenous leukemia (CML) and gastrointestinal stromal tumors.
