Pharmacological inhibition of hydroxysteroid 11‐beta dehydrogenase type 1 (11‐βHSD1) after myocardial infarction preserves cardiac function in a translational mini‐pig model

open access: yesBritish Journal of Pharmacology, EarlyView.
Abstract Background and Purpose Plasma glucocorticoids increase acutely after MI, thereafter tissue levels are amplified selectively within cells expressing 11‐ßhydroxysteroid dehydrogenase type 1 (11‐ßHSD1) that regenerates active glucocorticoids from circulating metabolites.

Design and development of dry powder Sulfobutylether-β-Cyclodextrin complex for pulmonary delivery of Fisetin [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
This study has investigated complexation of fisetin, a natural flavonoid, with three types of cyclodextrins to improve its solubility. Sulfobutylether-β-cyclodextrin (SBE-β-CD) showed the highest complexation efficiency while maintaining the in vitro ...

Bovine Tuberculosis in Raw Milk: A Herd‐Level Prevalence Study by PCR and ELISA Testing in Sylhet Region of Bangladesh

open access: yesVeterinary Medicine and Science, Volume 12, Issue 3, May 2026.
This study reveals the prevalence of bovine TB from vendor's milk and herd‐level testing using molecular approach: PCR and ELISA test highlighting the risk factor dynamics that shape bovine tuberculosis (bTB) occurrence in Sylhet region of Bangladesh. The findings advance understanding of bTB for diagnostics and surveillance strategies.

Dry powder inhalation

open access: yes, 2001
Inhalation is a convenient way to deliver drugs to the respiratory tract in the treatment of respiratory diseases. Different types of devices, such as pressurised metered dose inhalers (p-MDI's), nebulizers or dry powder inhalers (DPI's) are used for the pulmonary delivery of drugs. The present thesis focuses on dry powder inhalation.

Chlamydia avium‐associated hepatitis in a fancy pigeon (Columba livia f. domestica)

open access: yesVeterinary Record Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 2, May 2026.
Abstract A 5‐year‐old, male, fancy pigeon (Columba livia f. domestica, 380 g), found dead without prior clinical signs, was submitted for diagnostic postmortem examination. Histologically, the animal exhibited heterophilic to mononuclear hepatitis consistent with avian chlamydiosis; however, Chlamydia psittaci‐specific real‐time polymerase chain ...

The effect of inhaled dry salt on pulmonary mucociliary clearance in obstructive lung disease: A randomised, placebo‐controlled, crossover study

open access: yesClinical Physiology and Functional Imaging, Volume 46, Issue 3, May 2026.
Abstract Background Inhaled saline may improve mucus transport in respiratory diseases, for example, cystic fibrosis. This randomised, placebo‐controlled, crossover study examined the effect of inhaled dry NaCl on mucociliary clearance in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Methods Twenty‐five patients with GOLD stage I‐III COPD
