Dielectric Barrier Discharge Plasma Deoxidation of Natively Oxide Layer of Copper Powders in a Fluidized Bed

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This paper presents a novel approach to reducing oxide layers on metal powders using low‐temperature hydrogen dielectric barrier discharge plasmas at atmospheric pressure. Unlike conventional hydrogen‐plasma reductions, the powders do not contact the plasma directly.

Development of Sustainable MgO–C Refractories Using MgO–C Recyclates and a Novel Eco‐Friendly Fructose–Tannin Binder Crosslinked With Citric Acid

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study develops sustainable MgO–C refractories using recycled materials and eco‐friendly fructose–tannin binders. The enhanced performance of citric acid as a cross‐linker and functional additives on mechanical and thermomechanical properties was examined. Characterization included strength tests, immersion trials, and microstructural and inclusion

Possibilità di sviluppo della coltivazione del sorgo per l'alimentazione del bestiame in Somalia [PDF]

open access: yes, 1981
In 1979, a trial concerning yield differences between 2 different periods of harvesting (soft dough and complete maturation of the grain) of a sorghum hybrid BR has been carried out in Afgoy (Somalia). The effects of four nitrogen level have been also

Characterization of Macro/Microstructure and Corrosion Resistance of Austenitic Gas Tungsten Arc Welding Cladding

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Cladding is a proven method that boosts the surface qualities of mechanical parts by applying a layer of more durable material over a base substrate. This work responds to the needs of offshore and pressure vessels sectors by focusing on cladding a super austenitic steel onto low‐carbon steel through gas tungsten arc welding.

STOCHASTIC SIMULATION FOR BUFFELGRASS (Cenchrus ciliaris L.) PASTURES IN MARIN, N. L., MEXICO

open access: yesTropical and Subtropical Agroecosystems, 2014
A stochastic simulation model was constructed to determine the response of net primary production of buffelgrass (Cenchrus ciliaris L.) and its dry matter intake by cattle, in Marín, NL, México.

FORAGE YIELD, CHEMICAL COMPOSITION AND POTENTIAL MILK YIELD USING MAIZE SILAGE FROM ASIA, EUROPE, NORTH AND SOUTH AMERICAN CONTINENTS: A SYSTEMATIC REVIEW

open access: yesTropical and Subtropical Agroecosystems
Background. Corn (Zea mays L.) silage is the most widely used energy resource in dairy cattle diets worldwide, standing out mainly for its higher biomass yields, good palatability, homogeneous quality at harvest and ease of ensiling due to higher soluble

Introduction of tropical maize genotypes to increase silage production in the central area of Santa Fe, Argentina

open access: yesCrop Breeding and Applied Biotechnology, 2003
Some temperate areas of the world behave as sub-tropical due to greenhouse effect and the global warming. Therefore, more temperate genotypes show an important decrease in yield and dry matter production as consequence of heat stress.

Dry matter accumulation, translocation, and bulb yield of short-day onion as affected by cultivars and drip irrigation regimes in the dry-hot regions of southwest China

open access: yesAgricultural Water Management
Seasonal water scarcity and improper cultivar selection have severely restricted the production potential of short-day onions in the dry-hot regions of southwest China. However, the appropriate irrigation regime and cultivar are still unclear. Therefore,
