Dry Matter Production and Radiation Interception of Potato
Crop Science, 1991The quantification of radiation‐use efficiency (RUE), the amount of dry matter produced per unit of intercepted photosynthetically active radiation, is important for yield modeling and determination of yield potentials in different environments. This study was conducted to determine the mean RUE value of potato (Solanum tuberosum L.) and its stability ...

Influence of deflowering on dry matter production of soybeans
Field Crops Research, 1985Abstract Soybeans ( Glycine max (L.) Merr.) of maturity group 00 were grown in a greenhouse to investigate the effect of continuous flower removal on growth and dry matter partitioning. After growth stage R1 (initial bloom) one-half of the plants were deflowered daily for 50 days.

Dry-matter Production and Photosynthesis in Pine Seedlings
Annals of Botany, 1966Growth analysis and photosynthesis measurements were carried out on first-year seedlings of Pinus radiata , P. contorta , and P. nigra . P. sylvestris was also included in two growth-analysis experiments. There appeared to be no difference in relative growth-rate (RGR) between the species mentioned, except between P. radiata and P. nigra.

Measuring Coconut Palm Dry Matter Production
Experimental Agriculture, 1994Summary Non-destructive methods are described for estimating annual above-ground dry matter production by the coconut palm, Cocos nucifera. Leaf dry weight is estimated from the cross-sectional area of the petiole. Trunk dry weight increment is estimated from the volume increment, and a function relating trunk density to palm age. Husk and shell dry

Some factors effecting the dry matter production of lucerne cultivars
Journal of the Grassland Society of Southern Africa, 1988Dry matter yields of lucerne cultivars were affected by different factors. A simple equation is given for predicting total dry matter yield of irrigated lucerne based on mean maximum temperatures in January. Keywords: alfalfa; cultivars; dormancy rating; dry matter; dry matter production; dry matter yield; dry matter yields; environmental factors ...
