Dry Matter Yield and Nutritional Characteristics of Elephant-Grass Genotypes

Journal of Experimental Agriculture International, 2019
In the elephant-grass germplasm, there are genotypes that show a large genetic variability differentiated by morphological, reproductive, agronomic and biochemical characteristics. As such, there is a selection of new and more adapted elephant-grass genotypes, with greater productivity and nutritional quality, which can cause an increase in the forage ...

NUTRITIONAL INVESTIGATIONS IN NENDRAN BANANA FRUIT AND DRY MATTER YIELD

Madras Agricultural Journal, 1993
Effect of three levels of N (50, 100 and 150 g/plant) and three levels of P2 05 (15, 30 and 45 g/plant) with a constant dose of 300 g/plant of K on the dry matter and fruit yield of banana Cv.Nendran was investigated at Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, Coimbatore.

Dry Matter and Seed Yield of Mediterranean Annual Legume Species

Agronomy Journal, 1995
AbstractKnowledge of the effects of seeding rate, irrigation, and forage harvest management on annual legume crops is essential for their proper agronomical exploitation. Cultivars and ecotypes of berseem clover (Trifolium alexandrinum L.), common vetch (Vicia sativa L.), and fieldbean (Vicia faba L.) were compared at two seeding rates, with and ...

Efficiency of Indirect Selection for Dry Matter Yield Based on Fresh Matter Yield in Perennial Ryegrass Sward Plots

Crop Science, 2008
Forage dry matter yield (DMY) is a high‐priority trait in breeding perennial ryegrass (Lolium perenne L.). However, determining dry matter concentration is highly labor intensive. For a similar level of resources, indirect selection based on fresh matter yield (FMY) would allow a greater number of replicates, genotypes, or both to be evaluated.

SELECTION FOR DRY MATTER YIELD IN LOLIUM PERENNE L. I. DIRECT RESPONSE TO SELECTION

Canadian Journal of Plant Science, 1980
Selection for high and low dry matter yield within an ecotype of Lolium perenne L. was effective in producing two highly differentiated populations. The evaluation of the materials obtained after three cycles of selection snowed a realized heritability of 0.13 and a symmetrical response in the two directions of selection.

Contribution of Stem Dry Matter to Grain Yield in Wheat Cultivars

Functional Plant Biology, 1991
Field experiments were conducted in the eastern wheat belt of Western Australia in a dry year with and without irrigation (1987) and in a wet year (1988), comparing three cultivars of wheat differing in height and yield potential. The aim of the study was to determine the contribution of remobilisable stem dry matter to grain dry matter under different

INHERITANCE OF DRY MATTER YIELD IN A HETEROZYGOUS POPULATION OF ALFALFA

Canadian Journal of Plant Science, 1981
Additive and digenic variances for dry matter yield were estimated from a population of F1 lines of alfalfa (Medicago sativa L.). The F1 lines and their polycross (PX) progenies were both evaluated over three harvests in a simulated sward in a growth room.

[Simulation of greenhouse tomato dry matter partitioning and yield prediction].

Ying yong sheng tai xue bao = The journal of applied ecology, 2007
Based on the relationships between dry matter partitioning index, harvest index, and product of thermal effectiveness and PAR, a simulation model for greenhouse tomato dry matter partitioning and yield prediction was built, and validated by independent experimental data of different cultivars, substrates and locations. The coefficient of determination (

Independence of dry matter yield and leaf yield among perennial ryegrass varieties differing in seasonal yield distribution

Grass and Forage Science, 1995
AbstractFour varieties of perennial ryegrass (Lolium perenne L.), (Ba11316, Merlinda, Morgana and Talbot), with similar ear emergence dates but differing in seasonal yield distribution were compared over two harvest years (1992 and 1993) in a small plot trial employing six levels of fertilizer N (100 to 600kg Nha−1 year−1 applied monthly as split ...
